Customers say: Terrific value

"After strong storms Wednesday night /Thursday morning I found several shingles in my yard and more loose ones on the roof. My thoughts went from home owners insurance deductibles, DIY videos online, hospital bills if I were to do it myself, and eventually to Home Advisor. I typed in my "project". I immediately received an email with top contractors in my area wanting to bid. I clicked to let them all bid, and started reviewing the feedback on each one. As I was doing that my phone rang. It was Josue Licea from JML Roofing and Construction. He was looking at images of my house on Google Earth, and said he had the right color shingles to match my roof. I asked if he could make it out before the next rains predicted for Saturday afternoon. Josue and his brother Johan showed up on a very cold Saturday morning and installed over a dozen new shingles on my ridge cap. I watched them carry the ones that had come loose to their work truck. They explained what they were doing and the cost was very reasonable. Other contractors bid 3x what JML did and could not make it out until after another week of rain. Not only will I use JML on any future projects, I'll be sure to recommend them to friends and co-workers. Great job!"

"Julio came by to inspect our roof after the recent hailstorm & was very upfront about the costs and the whole process. He was very patient and understanding with us as we had to file a claim with our insurance company & worked with our schedule. We were really impressed at how knowledgeable he was and how fast his crew completed the project. He really made the whole process quick & easy, and he made sure the job was done right. If you?re looking to get your roof repaired, reach out to Julio and his team!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Framing a roof can take from several days to a week or more, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, the number of people working on the framing, weather conditions, and more. Roof framing is often the final step of framing a house, although in some cases, the roof may be framed before the interior of the home in order to offer more protection from the elements.

Walking on any roofing material is dangerous, so you should avoid it if you can, but if the need arises, you should know that you can walk on a concrete tile roof without damaging it. Try to step on the bottom portions of the tile that are supported by the lower layer, and distribute your weight evenly across both feet and hands, if possible.

The size of the dumpster will determine how many squares of shingles can fit in a dumpster. You can place between 4 to 20 squares of shingles in most standard containers.

Technically, a flat roof can be raised, but it’s extremely expensive, and there would not be much of a point. Most homeowners raise the roof in their homes to access the space between their existing ceiling and the roof, but flat roofs don’t have this space. Therefore, you can raise a flat roof, but it involves heavy structural modification.

Yes, an underlayment is required for metal roofs, especially when installed over an indoor residential living space. This underlayment acts as a protective barrier between the metal roofing and the roof deck. Common materials include tar, asphalt felt, or woven synthetic polymers. Depending on local building codes, existing shingles in good condition may also suffice. A quality underlayment is crucial as it provides protection against water intrusion, improves energy efficiency through insulation, helps absorb sound, and ultimately extends the lifespan of your roof.
