"He and his team were very efficient and did us a great job! He was polite and worked well with us! His team cleaned up the whole area and removed all of the trash! He even touched back to be sure all was well with the roof and the job they did. We would hire them again for our roofing needs and any construction or repairs."

"Carter home and construction are the best! The team was early to arrive, clean , and ready to work. They made sure every part of the process was explained to my wife while I was at work and even bright my garbage can up from the street while they work. I would recommend the company to anybody that needs construction or home improvement"

"Rolando was very professional and knowledgable about removing and installing a new roof. He put in two solar attic breeze fans and two skylights for us as well. The pricing was FANTASTIC! When other companies heard this was an insurance claim, they tried to take every last dollar of the insurance money. Rolando didn't care it was an insurance claim, he told me straight up that he would only charge his price and do a very good job and give us a warranty on the labor. He4 came in less than half the price the other companies were quoting us which left us money to put into another project on our home. Rolando is an honest hard worker. His crew did an excellent job and cleaned up after themselves. I would absolutely trust him with any future roofing needs should they come up."

"Excellent service from start to finish. From the first contact, they were very professional, punctual, and clear with all the information. The crew worked efficiently, cleanly, and with great attention to detail. They explained the entire roofing process and answered all my questions without any issues. The final result exceeded my expectations, and you can really see the quality of both the materials and the workmanship. I highly recommend them and would definitely hire them again."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Asphalt shingles have varying thicknesses across the length, so failing to stagger shingles from one row to the next will leave you with bulges and bumps if the thicker sections stack on top of each other. Not only is this unappealing, but it increases the risk of water intrusion. Stagger each new row by 6 inches to avoid this issue.

Yes, capped chimneys should still be vented. Failing to vent a chimney will result in condensation buildup inside the chimney, which commonly results in mold growth. If mold begins to grow in a chimney, it frequently goes undetected and spreads quickly through the home. Mold and moisture can damage the structural integrity of your home, and exposure to mold can cause discomfort and illness in residents.

Walking on any roofing material is dangerous, so you should avoid it if you can, but if the need arises, you should know that you can walk on a concrete tile roof without damaging it. Try to step on the bottom portions of the tile that are supported by the lower layer, and distribute your weight evenly across both feet and hands, if possible.

There are several pros and cons of flat roofs. One disadvantage of flat roofs is that you lose potential attic space because it's flat. Flat roofs tend to pool water and because they lack an angle, any leak in the roof—usually due to a bad seal—has the potential to let in a lot of water. They don’t work well in climates with snow. Flat roofs are also structurally weaker than sloped roofs.

16-gauge galvanized steel staples with a minimum crown of 15/16 inches or 24 millimeters are occasionally used to install shingles. However, most shingle manufacturers or residential building codes don’t recommend staples as a roofing fastener. Roofing nails are preferred in most cases, especially in areas that get a lot of heavy wind.
