"He and his team were very efficient and did us a great job! He was polite and worked well with us! His team cleaned up the whole area and removed all of the trash! He even touched back to be sure all was well with the roof and the job they did. We would hire them again for our roofing needs and any construction or repairs."

"Excellent service from start to finish. From the first contact, they were very professional, punctual, and clear with all the information. The crew worked efficiently, cleanly, and with great attention to detail. They explained the entire roofing process and answered all my questions without any issues. The final result exceeded my expectations, and you can really see the quality of both the materials and the workmanship. I highly recommend them and would definitely hire them again."

"A storm in April blew 6 singles off my shed. I quickly got an estimate and they came within a week of my accepting their bid. When there was a storm in June that rumpled the repaired area of the shed roof, they came and repaired the damage for no charge. The repairman that came is very polite and nice. I plan to call them to do guttering in the future."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

If your roof is nearing the 20-year mark in age, you probably should start worrying about the roof’s longevity. If you don’t know the age, it may be time to figure out who installed your roof, so you can estimate the age accurately. You then can make plans to pay for the upcoming roof replacement. You also can learn how to inspect a roof yourself to look for signs of damage that may indicate a need for a replacement.

To apply for a roofing permit, contact your local building authority. You may visit their office in person or contact them via phone or email. For more information on how to start the process, visit their website.

Architectural shingles and impact-resistant shingles aren’t mutually exclusive, which means some architectural shingles are impact-resistant shingles. Architectural shingles are thicker and more durable than standard 3-tab shingles, and they become even stronger when they also have high impact resistance and wind resistance ratings. The most durable shingles for areas with extreme weather are architectural or luxury shingles that have a Class-4 impact resistance and a Class-H wind resistance that can stand up to winds reaching 150 mph.

The green coloration that develops on copper roofs is called a “patina,” and it’s a result of mild oxidation on the surface. The oxidation process is not harmful to your roof. In fact, the surface corrosion acts as a protective layer and won’t spread to the core of your copper roof materials. The discoloration will progress much more quickly in damp or humid climates than it will in dry climates. If you don’t like the green color, you can seal your roof to preserve the shiny, rose-gold look.

Fall is widely considered the best time of year to replace a roof. The moderate temperatures are ideal for roofing crews to work and for new shingles to seal properly. Additionally, autumn weather is often drier, reducing the risk of weather-related delays compared to the rainier spring season.

While spring is also a viable option, the higher chance of rainfall can slow down the project. The main drawback to a fall installation is that it's the peak season for roofers, which can lead to higher prices and scheduling challenges.

To potentially save money, you could consider scheduling your roof replacement during the summer or winter off-seasons. However, both seasons have significant disadvantages. Extreme summer heat can make shingles too soft to handle, while winter's cold, snow, and ice can create dangerous working conditions and prevent shingles from sealing correctly, as they typically require temperatures above 40-45°F.
