"Like so many others we have cut the cord with the major tv providers. We had bought inside antennas, but the reception was not very good...and that is putting it mildly. We knew there had to be something better. And indeed there is. Halls Quality Communications is the answer. John and his assistant came out, installed an outside antenna and within about an hour solved our problem. The service was fast, professional, and reasonably priced. And on top of that John is a heck of a nice guy. I recommend them highly."

"Andrew and Dallas TV installers did an excellent job in hanging our tv. He came out promptly, within a couple days of our phone call. He offered his advise on location for the tv, and the type of mount that he would recommend. When the mount that we purchased didn't work out, Andrew provided his own mount to make sure we would be satisfied. When the tv was initially hung, we had a problem with the mount not supporting the weight of the tv. Andrew was very responsive in coming out and addressing this problem. I plan on using Andrew again for our home theater needs, and would recommend to anyone in need of his services."

"Cedrick came to my house at the scheduled time. He was very professional. We had trouble with the cable provided box. He called customer service and took care of the problem and than set up the TV and programed everything for me to use. He made a slight adjustment to cabinet so wires did not show.
Most of all he took time to teach me how to use the different functions and not just set up and rush out of here.
Would definitely use this company again.

"I bought the $99 2 hour special for installation of a mount and TV. I was extremely happy with the work, wiring through the walls, and caps used to finish the holes in the walls. The technician came out assessed my needs and did the work in about an hour and 15 minutes. I paid extra for the caps and a cable but seemed reasonable.
I was planning on a future install, so the installer took a look and said he could come back when I purchased the TV and install.
Very polite and professional! Would definitely recommend.

TV Antenna questions, answered by experts

There aren’t any guarantees that the TV antenna you purchase and install will provide perfect reception. Much depends on your distance from broadcasting towers, any nearby obstructions, and typical weather. However, doing some research minimizes the risk of disappointment.

You can speak to neighbors to understand their setup. Various online tools allow you to check how far you are from TV transmitters in your area. The Federal Communications Commission, for example, has a tool enabling you to check local Digital TV channel reception.

Selecting the right type of antenna for your situation and having it properly positioned and installed will also increase the chances of better reception.

Yes, in general, raising your TV antenna will improve your reception. Besides raising the location of your antenna, you should try putting it by a window. In fact, you can have the same antenna but get double the channels or more if it's in the best location. The highest spot to put a TV antenna will be on your roof, and the tallest type of outdoor antenna is a tower.

Regular maintenance and protection against weather extremes enhance longevity.

If you’re having problems with poor reception, here are some simple tips that may help improve the signal and picture quality.

  • Consider the position of the antenna: Could it be higher, is it secure, or are nearby obstructions interfering with the signal? For a directional antenna, you may need to reposition it in the direction of the broadcast tower.

  • Move any metallic objects: Metal can interfere or block reception, so if you have stainless steel objects or the antenna is near a wrought-iron fence, this could be a problem. Try to keep the antenna at least six feet away from metal objects..

  • Cable length: An overly long cable can reduce signal strength. If you don’t need as much cable as you are using, it may be better to exchange it for a shorter one.

Before investing in a TV antenna repair, there are a few steps you can take to help boost your signal quality. Removing obstacles like tree branches can help improve your signal strength. Along the same line, moving an indoor antenna away from obstacles can also help. These should be near a window, as high as possible. If these steps don’t work, speak with a TV antenna technician about a signal amplifier to help boost your signal even further.
