"CertaPro was so great. Sebastian is the best. Very personable and patient. I kept adding to the job and he quickly got back with me and provided what it would cost. Silvia headed the job and worked diligently and had her crew there to finish the job in a timely manor. It was a big job. Whole house including ceiling and base boards. Added the ceiling and bae base boards. I worked with a color specialist, Ana. She helped me decide on the right grey. Which was tough! It was an amazing experience. I trusted implicitly as well. Great experience and team."

"This is a father-son business JR'S Plastering & Construction (George). They did a great job fixing my front crack stucco, caulking my front windows, painting the front of the house, and replacing the patio travertine stone. They also power washed and seal the stone. They were reasonable on the pricing for the project and clean up the debris. 5 STAR."

"Absolutely wonderful! This is the 4th job he has done for me and as always exceptional work. This was my biggest project yet. Ivan had so many great ideas to add to what I already had in mind. He made my dream come true. There were a few surprises found when gutting the rooms but he worked around them and made it even better. His attention to detail and expert workmanship is exceptional. I just love my remodel! It feels like a whole new home everyone who see it is impressed. If you want the very best you need Ivan Custom Builders ! Then when all work complete there was a leak coming from upstairs down to my new kitchen! Ivan to the rescue! He had to tear out a large portion of the shower upstairs and repair an older remodel done by someone else I am so thankful for Ivan and his crew!"

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Solid, unpainted stucco shouldn’t suffer damage from dots of glue used for this task. If the stucco is dirty, you may notice slight marks when you heat and peel the glue away, but these aren’t permanent.

However, not all stucco walls are solid stucco. Some are “faux” stucco with a foam backing. This kind of stucco veneer is more susceptible to damage, including damage from hot glue. We don’t suggest attaching anything to these kinds of stucco walls, so make sure you check the stucco type before starting this project.

To repair damaged exterior stucco, you’ll first remove all loose and crumbling material from the damaged area. You then need to thoroughly clean the area and dampen it to ensure proper bonding. After that, you’ll apply a bonding agent to the repair area, then apply new stucco in layers, allowing for curing time between each layer. The final coat should be textured to match the surrounding stucco pattern as closely as possible. Once fully cured, the repaired area can be painted to match the rest of the wall if needed.

Quikrete will set without mixing. The process of pouring dry concrete into your concrete form and then adding water is called dry pouring. While this method makes pouring concrete simpler and easier, it reduces its strength and durability. It can be a viable option for small, decorative concrete pavers for walkways or for setting fence posts, but it’s not ideal for pouring slabs that will bear any significant amount of weight.

While your stucco repair professional can diagnose exactly what needs repair, it can be helpful to know what to look out for in the early stages to avoid significant reconstruction. Some common stucco repairs include:

  • Cracks

  • Holes

  • Ceiling repair

  • Chimney repair

  • Stucco removal

  • Discoloration

  • Caulking

  • Water damage

  • Foundation repair

You should aim to let stucco dry for at least 48 hours before it rains. While misting new stucco and keeping it moderately moist is important for strength and longevity, uncontrolled exposure to rain can lead to weak stucco that doesn’t bond properly. Rain can also affect the stucco finish and the color unevenly, leaving you with less appealing siding.
