I have traveled across several states building and detailing Multi-million dollar projects as well as remodeling various properties. I recently moved to Lubbock in order to help take care of my family, and I am trying to start my own business to work for myself and build a relationship within the community. "This was a major remodel project  with complete redo of dining room, two living areas, master bedroom and bath (most of the first floor of our two story home). After attempting to get several bids for the work we chose Gill Construction for their timely response, reasonable prices and highly personal approach.  We had used them for an addition to our home 10 years ago and had remembered what a positive experience we had then.  From the very first meeting with Jerry and Mickey we were impressed with their professionalism, creativity and obvious interest in our project.  We were especially pleased when the subcontractors were brought in during the estimate process which gave me great comfort in the validity of the bid.  Jerry came back 3 times to make sure all areas were covered and then provided a detailed quote.   (I will say that the other companies I tried were slow in getting back or very high in their quote. ) Our project started on the date chosen and we also agreed to a completion date i(as we all know, these jobs can often drag on.... more on that later).  From the very first day, the Gill crew showed up on time and worked diligently.  There was a steady flow of workers and I never had to call and ask where somebody was or if someone was going to show up.  There had obviously been a focused effort on coordinating each step of the work.  I was in constant communication with Mickey throughout the job and cannot say enough about how well he keep me informed and updated on what to expect.  Every time he said someone would be there, they were!!  This was such a nice part of the experience.   We have done other projects with other companies and I always seemed to be calling to ask why people were not showing up.  Not so with Gill!   And not only do they show up...the subs are all polite, professional and incredibly skilled craftsman!  Even when we made some changes along the way (and we made several!), they were quick to accommodate and made sure we were happy with every choice and decision.  They also did an amazing job keeping up with daily clean up and keeping the house livable for us.   And finally, everything was completed a full week ahead of schedule!!!  That is unheard of in my experience!   Though I know they had other projects going, we never felt like we were not getting their full attention.   And we never felt like they were rushing through just to meet a deadline. We could not be more proud of the finished product or more impressed with Gill Construction!   We truly have a transformed home with beautiful, high quality, unique ,custom features that absolutely exceeded our expectations.  Jerry and Mickey were involved every step of the way and have a true commitment to customer satisfaction.   There is no question where we will turn for any future home projects.  (I won't waste my time trying to get bids from any others.)  If you are looking for a reputable, trustworthy, and price competitive contractor, do yourself a favor and give them a call!   These guys will do it right! I would definitely add a few +++ to that overall A rating!!"

"When I bought this house, it was was filthy, smelled horrible from outside even, was rodent and roach-infested. Counters, floors were wet and rotting. Everything had to be torn out and rebuilt. Now my home is beautiful. The bathrooms are lovely. There were no short-cuts or rush jobs, or anything left unfinished. I’ve had neighbors and friends who are in building and construction admire and compliment the high quality of the work done on my home. Most people who come in comment on the beautiful flooring, or the cleanliness of the walls and ceilings. "If you have a leaky basement or are thinking about building a new house with a basement, don’t even consider using anyone except Willie and The Basement Kings. We rebuilt a lake house in 2012 that was destroyed in a wildfire, and the walkout basement flooded every spring. The builder spent thousands of dollars trying to fix it, but it flooded eight times in five years. I found The Basement Kings on Angie’s List, and Willie met me at the lake house the next day. He thoroughly inspected the basement and told me exactly what the problems were and how to fix them. Willie has an impeccable work ethic. He and his crew finished their work today. We have a lifetime guarantee that the basement will stay dry. He took photos of the work every day and texted them to my husband. It was hard, tedious, dirty work, but Willie takes pride in doing the job right, and his price was fair for the amount of work and materials involved. This guy eats, sleeps and dreams about basements. SO glad we hired him. You will be too!"

It was easy to communicate with Steve and receive feedback about how to proceed with the project, the timeline, and he was quick to respond about what the cost would be. When it was necessary for us to meet, I could depend on him to be there, and my phone calls were always answered with a friendly, helpful response. "My husband and I were off during the holidays and we His & Hers Mulit-Service. Veronica and Mike came the same day to meet us, understand our expectations/needs and view our home. They were very timely and gave us a quote later that day. When we accepted, they further accommodated us by coming the next day at noon, the time that worked best for us. We were pleasantly surprised and extremely happy with the job they performed. We have used others in the past and I have had to "re-do" or finish after they left because it was not satisfactory. I did NOT have to do that with His & Her service. They cleaned as Veronica said they would, "from the top to the bottom". When my husband and I inspected after they left, we were so surprised to see even the areas we felt would logically be missed, were clean! Doors, both sides were clean, baseboards, light fixtures all through out the house were spotless (and we have a large number of glass globe light fixtures). Even pictures and mirrors looked brand new. Our large master shower shined from ceiling to the floor. The wooden floors looked perfect as did the carpets and tile. Veronica, Mike and the crew the brought were very friendly, neat and professional. I will be using them again. They are a pleasure to work with and take pride in the job done and their business. She told me she would clean our home like it was her own, and that she did!"

"Preston of G-1 Plumbing performed the services and addressed the toilet & drain problem. He was unable to stop leak(made it worse) & submitted his recs to Choice Home for review. I was unable to understand Choice Home's response regarding the faucet leak. Their review stated faucet needed to be replaced BUT it was under "builder's warranty." I built this home in 2005. There is no "builder's warranty" now. I cancelled the proposed work order & paid out-of-pocket. A Friend, who was familiar with my builder and knows faucet components, came to my home, adjusted/cleaned the faucet cartridge and stopped the leak. The CHW tech, Preston, is conscientiuos, however, IMHO lacked the knowledge & experience to stop my leak. Home Warranty Companies, at least in my area, hire owner/operators who need the work to build their business and are NOT the most experienced/knowledgeable & are willing to work for less money. In my experience, Home Warranty Companies want the CHEAPEST resolution, not the BEST. I would recommend G-1 Plumbing for most plumbing issues."
