"He did a great job installing our electric dog fence. No shortcuts or half efforts - just hard honest work. I’d trust him with any project and plan to reach out to him again in the future if anything pops up."

"The estimator came and was 5 minutes early and he had an estimate to me late that afternoon. We scheduled a start date and they arrived with a full crew and completed the job in 3 days. They cleaned up all their trash and mess and did everything the estimate had listed. The crew leader and his team were very professional. They were respectful of the neighbors and the job went better than i had expected. This is a much better job than that of some of the do all contractors around. They specialize in fence and they do it well."

"Ben and his crew did an amazing job on our fence! He started right on time and finished our large fence in under a week. He also clean up our yard and made it look perfect! He communicated very well and gave a very fair price. If you need a fence or landscaping, Ben is your guy!"

I have traveled across several states building and detailing Multi-million dollar projects as well as remodeling various properties. I recently moved to Lubbock in order to help take care of my family, and I am trying to start my own business to work for myself and build a relationship within the community. I take pride in everything I work on, so I want you to get exactly what you imagine when you hire me in confidence.

"Blake got in touch with me immediately and was able to go by the lot, see it firsthand, and get a quote to me the same day. I had a few questions and decisions to make about gate size, but he was able to answer all of my questions, even get me a quote for a different size gate, which gave me enough time to make an informed decision. We emailed and talked a couple of times before I gave him the go ahead to get me on the schedule. His crew installed the fence and gate over a two day period, and it was exactly what I wanted and needed. He let me pay with a credit card, which was more convenient for me. I will definitely go to him when I need additional fencing for my house and lot."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

You can use a few different tactics to prevent your deck gate from sagging. Aside from using strong, rot-resistant woods, introducing a diagonal element—such as a tension rod or solid piece of wood to act as a brace—across the gate will offer better support. You can also use rigid joists to prevent the gate from sagging.

The ideal distance between fence posts depends on several factors, including the terrain, the purpose of the fence, and the material used. For different types of fences, here are some general guidelines:

  • Wood and Metal Fences: Posts should be spaced between 5 and 8 feet apart.

  • Vinyl Fences: Spacing can be between 6 and 8 feet.

  • Chain-Link, Mesh, or Lattice Fences: Posts can be set anywhere from 4 to 25 feet apart, with 4-10 feet being common for chain-link.

  • Wire Fences: Spacing can be up to 12 feet apart.

Pallet fences come with built-in support through the fence posts you should install on each side of their vertical interior. Stand the fence upright and slide it onto the fence posts, then further support it with 2x4 wood boards that you drill across each point where two pallets connect side-by-side.

A chain-link fence does not lower your property value. However, chain links are not the most attractive materials—so it probably won’t raise the value either. If this is a concern, opt for wooden posts to provide visual flair and go with a color coating on your fence. Putting in a functional and attractive gate also helps up your resale value when installing a chain-link fence.

The best wood for a farm fence is pressure-treated wood that will stand up to various weather conditions, animal contact, and moisture. Farm fences need to resist rot and damage, so choose a species such as cedar or redwood. The natural oils in these woods give them decay resistance, which also makes them ideal for other fence types, such as a wooden snow fence.
