"The job was done in a timely manner. They were quick and did exactly what was requested. I showed up to the house to pay and they were all professional and busy cleaning the area they had worked in. Very happy with how fast they were able to get this project done. When I had returned the areas were cleaned and raked and it looked as if no one had been there."

"Milton did a great job at a very fair price. He answered all questions promptly, arrived when promised and finished quickly and did a great job on my gravel foundation for a shed. I would hire him again in a minute!"

"We recently hired Price Peak Services to perform some basic landscape services and we are very pleased with the results. From the very beginning, their communication was excellent. They provided a clear, detailed estimate and stuck to it throughout the project. The workers were incredibly professional and punctual. Additionally, they made sure to clean up the workspace before leaving. The quality of their craftsmanship is outstanding, and our yard looks completely transformed. I highly recommend Price Peak Services to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled labor contractor!""

"Clay and his crew cut down two huge elm trees and did an excellent job. He gave me a great price for doing the job and was always wanting to make sure I was satisfied. They did a great cleanup after the trees were cut down and all that was left was two huge stumps and a clean yard. I would definitely recommend Clay’s Cleanup and will use him again when the need arrives. There are no hidden charges, so what he quotes to do the job is what your final price will be. Clay wants to please his customers and he did!!"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

If you don’t wish to dig it out and convert it into a finished basement, you can still encapsulate your crawl space to protect it from damage for an average cost of $5,500. Finishing a crawl space beyond this isn’t really worthwhile, as the low ceilings mean you won’t be able to use the area as living space.

Almost any kind of home can have a wine cellar or cabinet installed. You’ll need an area where a concrete floor can be put in, along with the necessary insulation, climate control, and ventilation systems. If you think of yourself as an aspiring sommelier, an underground wine cellar may be ideal, but it will cost significantly more.

What you choose to install really depends on your budget and how many bottles you’re looking to store.

Professional installers often include a deep layer of crushed gravel under permeable pavers to allow more runoff to soak through into the soil below. Many installations will include multiple layers of gravel, with coarser aggregate at the base and finer aggregate that sits on top of that bottom layer. Above the gravel, you’ll often find coarse sand that helps reduce paver shifting over time. Some permeable paver designs include a water collection system set into the gravel layer to route runoff to a safe area for disposal.

The rules and regulations regarding groundwater use vary between states. To find out if you can dig a well on your property, you’ll have to consult these regulations, address any compliance requirements, and get the appropriate permits. It’s also important to check that your intended location has the right geology and water table to support a well.

Hard soil could be a sign of overly dry dirt, either from poor drainage or drought. It's important to test the nutrient levels, density, and drainage capacity of your soil to see if it's absorbing water properly. Begin by adding a light layer of water and observing how long the soil retains moisture. If you experience a good deal of runoff, you may need to aerate your lawn, apply a wetting agent, or hire a professional for a closer look.
