Ted did an amazing job for us and we hope to use him for several years to come. The project looked so good when completed most of our neighbors asked for Ted's contact information. You can tell Ted has a degree, and loves his job. We were sold simply based on his plan. Our first visit was a basic meet and great, we gave him very little to go on, just told him to make it look nice. Very warm friendly person, makes it a bit easier to trust in their quality of work. He sent a landscape map showing what plants he would install and where they would be placed. I do not have a green thumb and had never heard of any of these plants. My wife and I had to google them all. Once we saw the plants and could picture it completed it couldn't get installed fast enough.
His staff worked quietly and quickly. They were also very friendly. I was very surprised at how much physical labor was involved, but they skipped no details, extremely thorough.
We love the finished project. During the day we just stare at it, and take it all in. Makes sitting on the front porch so much more inviting. At night the new lighting gives our house a completely new look. For the first time in 40 years the house has curb appeal at night. I love seeing our neighbors drive by slowly just taking it all in. For sod we went with Zoysia, based on Ted's recommendation. We love the way it looks and besides being resilient it is so soft my kids lay on it.
Very happy with Ted's work and can not say enough good things about him.
Would highly recommend him to anyone looking for landscape design and implementation. As mentioned above he does have a degree and a true professional in his field. With that in mind he is not the cheapest out there. There are plenty of landscape people who will throw something together for a cheaper price. Be wary of those. You pay for what you get. A lawn that lasts is worth the extra money. Not to mention the value it adds to the house now and for years to come.
Thank you Ted and the staff at Focal Point. We have had several major projects done to our home in the past and you were by far one of the best to work with. Look forward to seeing you again.

We're not plant people so we had no clue what would look good just the feel we wanted once it was completed. Told us he understood exactly what we wanted. We felt confident that he/his company could provide that so we signed his contract right then. During the conversation he suggested for the lawn that we put in Zoysia because it would do better in less sunlight than Bermuda or St Augustine. Our side yard was in great need of grass and water drainage. He suggested a french drain from the back of our fence all the way to the front curb to get rid of the drainage. Since he was the expert we went with his suggestions. They showed up to perform the work on the day scheduled removed the tree and started to till up the backyard and dirt around the pool in prep for the Zoysia grass and plants. When my husband got home that afternoon he spoke to Matt about the possibility of putting the same grass in the front yard along with redoing some of the front landscaping to open up the front of our house more. We agreed on a price and so they continued with their work. On Friday 4/26/13 they said they were completed. We looked at the backyard and said, this is it for plants. This is not the feel we wanted. My husband was furious. They did show up Saturday with 2 large bushes to put behind our waterfall. They laid all new sod but never rolled it so our yard now looks lumpy. 3 weeks later after numerous phone calls they finally came out and rolled the lawn but it didn't make any difference. Should I have to get upset before they do something to fix the situation. I now have the worse yard in the neighborhood. Matt even mentioned while he was here for our estimate that we would probably get yard of the month when he was done. I've had to spend more money to try to get the lawn weed free and it's still covered in weeds and looks horrible. Several of my neighbors have mentioned how bad our lawn looks after paying so much money. I've tried contacting them on several occasions because I have had 6 of their plants die! The side yard that needed drainage and grass looks worse today 3 months later than it did before they started. Even after all of this I did refer this company to a neighbor. She called them and they came out but she has NEVER gotten a call or an estimate back from the company. I feel they come in get it done quick and run with the money. I would not recommend doing business with this company unless you have money to burn. We didn't and now I'm stuck trying to fix the mess in our lawn.

He had good ideas for the work we wanted done and was willing to listen to our thoughts. We had a retaining wall rebuilt across the front of our home. It entailed having the irrigation system moved as well as several plants. We encountered two correctable difficulties. The design called for a curved wall; the workers installed a straight wall. When we notified Don, the work was immediately redone to our satisfaction. The second difficulty was in the existing plants. Apparently the workers were unaware of our desire to keep all the existing plants. So we lost three large bushes. However, again, Don had them replaced quickly.We have not done the second part of the work yet - the actual landscaping - as the weather has been so hot that it would be difficult to have satisfactory installation without a tremendous amount of watering to keep the new plants alive. Don suggested this part of the project be done in early fall to have the best opportunity for the plants to establish themselves well.We have been satisfied with the work done. And we look forward to better weather so the project can be completed, believing we will be happy with that work as well."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/coppell/grow-it-land-designs-and-garden-center-reviews-486676.htm"},"position":10}]}

Agustin and his crew were professional and did a thorough job setting up irrigation in our front and back yards and foundation. We also had stone added to our flowerbed and a cleanup of the weeds and plant repositions. It looks really nice. Thanks Agustin!

6 employees. Uses Licensed subs for irrigation, lighting, brick work and carpentry. You plant around your design, not design around your plants. Confusing? Upon meeting with a new client, most people will typically tell me of their favorite plant(s). Putting plants in the lead position of the design process will guarantee you a landscape that resembles your neighbors and every other house on the street and across the community. It’s like determining the colors you will use in your new house and you haven’t yet designed the house! Like colours, plants are a medium. You must provide context in order to give meaning. This is the hardscape or ‘bones’ referred to in garden literature. Be it a simple graveled path, a grouping of boulders, or obedient deference to existing topography, this is what will provide year-round interest. It is also the framework that will suggest and therefore help you choose which plants and their placement. The end result is an aesthetic and harmonious integration of hardscape and softscape elements. The Walkabout Way acknowledges the on-site environmental realities (ecozone, drainage, sun, shade etc..) and integrating these along with the clients desired outside intentions (active/passive use) as the basis for formulating a design theme. The end result is a naturalistic approach that is environmentally and ecologically sensitive, yet aesthetically pleasing regardless of the season.

Our goal at Collin County Sprinkler is to provide our customers with a high quality custom designed irrigation system at a fair price. We are a full service irrigation company in Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Allen, Lewisville, and surrounding areas of Dallas, TX. We offer repair services (for systems that we installed) residential and commercial installations, as well as drainage systems. We provide an industry leading three year warranty on materials and labor for all of our residential installations. Therefore, we use only the very best products and equipment. With a few exceptions, all the major irrigation manufacturers make both a good product and a lesser quality cheap product. So it is difficult to make a purchase decision based on a particular brand or another. The difference between a good sprinkler system and a poor one is the contractor that designs and installs it. Unlike many of our competitors, we do not enlist high pressure sales tactics in order to sell you an irrigation system. We simply provide you with our best price up front and on a timely basis. We do not require meeting with you in order to give you a bid. However, we will be glad to meet you at your request. Referral lists are also available upon request. "I would give them 0 stars if I could. In September, 2023, I had Collin County Sprinkler put in a drip line around my house to water the foundation. Also I had just planted a new tree in my back yard just 4 days earlier. I asked them to run irrigation to the new tree. I noticed after the crew left that they had removed one of the bubbler heads from a tree about 15 feet away, installed a T fitting from the first tree and attached supply line tubing to the new tree then attached the bubblers. Soon after, I noticed that the tree wasn’t setting watered properly. Another person showed up and told me that the bubblers were not adjusted properly. The adjusted them and it seemed to make it better at the time. Since the trees water before I wake up, I had not noticed the my new tree was not being watered properly, so when my grand sons come over, I had them to remove the bubbler heads from all 3 trees on the zone to see how far the water would shoot up in the air at each of the 3 trees. I was surprised that water was barely bubbling from one opening only. The other openings you could see water in the riser only. I called Collin County and was informed that it would be two weeks before anyone would be at my house. The finally came and was very punctually. After looking at the trees and taking off one head in the two tree rings that were in close proximity. After turning the water on, he said, the only way to fix this is to install a new zone to the tree that was installed last year and informed me that it would cost an additional $650 to have that done. The tech called Steve, the owner of the sprinkler company and was told by him that I was asked at the time if I wanted to put in a new zone and I turned it down. I WAS NEVER GIVEN THAT OPTION! The owner insisted that they did. How would he know for sure, he wasn’t the one that was here. I proceeded to ask the tech to have Steve call me to discuss the problem. Later in the day, a different person called to discuss the matter. All he did was parrot what Steve had told the tech earlier. I told him that apparently Steve didn’t have the balls to call a customer that wasn’t satisfied with the companies work, so he made him do it. So much for them guaranteeing their work. I think I read one reviewer say they guaranteed their work for 3 years. I think that is a little long. I had them install it, complained about the low pressure within the first month, complained about it again when they came out on April 2 to do a spring tune up and then come out on July 16th. On top of that I was charged ”a reduce rate” of $50 for a service call to look at a problem that they created. I would have thought if their techs were proficient in their trade, the would have mentioned that the tree needed a new zone— not only upon install, bit the other two times they were here instead of adjusting the bubbler heads and calling it fixed. If ir wasn’t going to work properly, they had 3 opportunities to tell me before I was finally told. I know this has been a long review and I chose them because of the large amount of 5 star reviews they have. However, if you use them, you do carry the chance of being the next one star reviewer. Save yourself the frustration and find a different sprinkler company for your irrigation needs."

Hector and his crew went above and beyond to help me after a storm left my livestock without a fence. While other companies ignored my calls or acted like my situation wasn’t important, Hector made me feel heard and valued from the very start. Even with their packed schedule, they worked me in and got the job done quickly, saving my animals’ freedom and my peace of mind. The team arrived early, worked tirelessly without taking breaks, and didn’t leave until the job was complete. Their dedication, professionalism, and hard work were truly impressive. Every single person was polite, respectful, and focused on getting the job done right. Hector took the time to answer all my questions, big or small, and made sure I was completely satisfied. FAQs for plant watering projects in Sherman, TX
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Lawn irrigation is the process of getting water to your lawn, grass and all, for it to grow. There are five main types of lawn irrigation methods:
Manual irrigation puts you in charge of the flow of water. Using a sprinkler head on your hose is best to evenly distribute the water across your entire lawn. This doesn’t take much time but requires you to be physically outside holding the hose.
Above-ground sprinklers attach to your hose and rotate or oscillate around your lawn. Since these are above-ground, they’ll need to be moved when it’s time to mow, and depending on the size of your property, you might need to move it around your yard for full coverage.
In-ground sprinklers are flush with the ground when not in use but pop up above the ground level when it's time to water the lawn. Piping for these sprinklers is all found underground, and there are different types of sprinkler heads for different uses and lawn sizes.
Drip irrigation involves drip lines that are more efficient than sprinklers for more extensive lawns. This involves a lot of digging since they are installed underground, but it makes it easy for you to mow.
Rainwater collection and irrigation uses nature’s precipitation to water your lawn. This option might not be available in every area since semi-reliable rainfall is needed, though the barrels for this system can range from 15 gallons to 10,000 gallons or more.
The cost of a lawn sprinkler system is $2,550 for the average homeowner. However, this price can range from $350 to $5,000 or more, depending on the type of sprinkler system you install, the size of your yard, and the type of sprinkler heads you choose. For example, rotating or oscillating sprinkler heads are more expensive than stationary ones, making the cost for one sprinkler head $2.50 to $30 each. Likewise, a yard that is 1/4 of an acre in size averages a total average price of $2,460; however, a one-acre yard averages a cost of $9,840.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
