"It was well done. They extended our original kitchen cabinets to the ceiling. They even fixed some of the small aesthetic issues with our original cabinets without charge! They were fast and efficient and the cabinet match was perfect. I would definitely recommend them."

"Installed a wall to wall cabinet in our wet closet. The cabinet is beautiful. The installation was a little bumpy because our walls are not exactly straight. After 3 attempts it was installed. The reason this isn’t a 4 or 5 star review is that they only drilled enough peg holes to adjust the 2nd shelf and there’s 3 shelves. The 1st shelf can’t go lower, the 3rd shelf can only go 1 peg higher. Then there’s the matter of the door is routed on both sides, so the back of the doors are not flat. It’s like I could actually flip the doors around and get a different look. It’s not the worse, but these are two of strangest thing I’ve ever seen in a custom cabinet."

"Another contractor had started and mostly finished installing a package lockbox on a concrete pad, but didn't orient the box correctly and left after he got paid. He never responded to my attempts to contact him to complete the job. Antonio with Artista Painters came to the rescue! He contacted me before any other pro, inspected my problem, gave me a fair estimate and did great-looking hard work to fix everything, all in less than 12 hours! As an added bonus, Antonio comes across as very intelligent, diligent and cool. Do yourself a favor and hire him."

Small jobs welcome

"I used Mr. McCaughtry for a few handyman jobs. While working on my flat screen wall install, he saw a broken staircase spoke and fixed that, too. He also did all my curtain rods and a few picture hangings that I could not do myself. He is a kind, hard working gentleman who you can trust in your home. He is my go to handyman."

Closets questions, answered by experts

To prevent sagging, consider both the material and the span of the shelf. Using sturdy materials such as plywood or solid wood can provide better support than particleboard. Additionally, limiting the shelf span to 36 inches or less can reduce the risk of sagging. For longer shelves, incorporating center supports or brackets can offer additional reinforcement.

Bedrooms and living rooms generally cost the least to remodel. Of course, the project price will depend on what you're planning to do to the space and the cost of the materials you choose to incorporate. Prices are typically lower than those of other remodels because major plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work isn't often part of remodeling these rooms.

The average closet remodel cost ranges between $500 and $2,500. However, the cost can vary greatly depending on the project scope. Homeowners can expect to pay $10 to $25 per square foot on a closet remodeling project.

If you have a bathroom closet with movable shelves, you can place them at virtually any spacing that works for you. Useful measurements between shelves in the working, or middle, section can be 10 to 16 inches for towels or linens. Lower or higher shelving could be up to 24 inches between shelves to store lesser-used or bulky items or boxes.

If you’re on a tight budget, the least expensive material you can buy for DIY closet shelves is chipboard, a.k.a. particle board. This inexpensive material is made from a pulp of sawdust, resin, and glue that’s pressed together under high temperature and pressure. As you can imagine, it’s not very sturdy and might buckle under your blue jean collection, so you should only use it if you’re storing very light items.
