"I think he actually delivered the plans June, 1st.  I wouldn't use them again. I would have liked them to have been more proactive. He basically just took my ideas and made the design and as a person that is not an expert in that field, I would have appreciated more of his expertise rather than him just taking my ideas and doing his design on them."

"Hestia was a first class company to work with, from Jesse, Brian, Hannah, and Reynaldo, to the individuals performing the work. The entire team was focused on meeting/exceeding our expectations. Very satisfied with the end result which finished ahead of schedule and at the agreed cost. Our work consisted of a kitchen and 2-bath (only cabinets in master) remodel, with additional work inclusive of: repair of a recurring roof/ceiling leak in the living area, full replacement of stairway balusters, addition of trim and molding to the living room, a new built-in bookshelf, and painting of the living areas and ceilings. The duration was estimated at 5 weeks and work was completed in 4 weeks. Throughout the effort, the Hestia team endeavored to carry out the work in a sequence to minimize household disruption. The workers were pleasant, courteous, and very hard working. We tried to minimize any scope creep but inevitably made several requests that increased the overall scope. The Hestia team just adjusted and accommodated with a reasonable cost and can-do spirit. The site team also made a few 'extra' enhancements (baseboard trim and painting of small areas) without a formal scope change. For those that have not experienced a major remodel, it is not for the faint of heart. With the kitchen and one bath out of commission for a couple of weeks, the master bedroom and bath became our headquarters and dining facility. However, Hestia did its best to get the other facilities back to 'serviceable' as quickly as possible. For our part, we did our best to have our materials selected and available to minimize disruptions. Hannah and Brian offered excellent guidance in the selection of countertops, colors, etc. We are especially pleased with the wood work overall and, after having witnessed the craftsmanship and care, have an even greater appreciation for those that performed the work At the end of the day, we are extremely pleased with the end result and have received compliments from numerous visitors. I highly recommend Hestia to anyone looking to remodel or upgrade a home and even plan to use them for further home upgrades early next year."

Architects questions, answered by experts

Consulting the architect of your house is not the best way to determine when it was built. Many homes are built by developers or builders, so there may not be a specific architect to track down—especially if you have a very old house. Instead, it’s best to rely on local government records.

In the United States, architects must be licensed in all 50 states and the District of Columbia before being allowed to practice or seek business. Licensing requirements vary state-to-state, but overall the architect must be educated, attain a certain level of experience, submit to and pass an examination, and register as an architect. Find out if your architect is licensed using Angi’s contractor licensing search tool

Greek Revival architecture was popularized in America in the early- to mid-1800s, around the time when archaeologists were discovering buried ancient Greek buildings. As a means of celebrating the democratic government in ancient Greece, American architects borrowed from those newly discovered buildings as a way to emphasize that America would remain a democratic country in the wake of the American Revolution.

Cathedral ceilings make a statement in your home, but at the cost of your attic space. Normal attics are wide open, which allows warm air to move around and exit your home. Because of this, cathedral ceilings make your home less energy efficient and put your ceiling at risk of venting issues if you’re not careful. They also reduce your attic storage space, potentially cause an echo, and even make it harder to change a light bulb.

Architects can cater to both residential and commercial projects, tailoring their approach according to the specific sector regulatory requirements.
