"I had been looking for a couple years for someone to build me a patio cover. Either my calls were never returned or the builder couldnâ t figure out how to tie it into my house. Which why Iâ m THRILLED I called Sam and his crew. He came up with a design I love and within my budget. I was so happy. They were efficient, skilled and asked for my input in the design. They stayed within my budget, which was very important to me. I look forward to spending time outside under the new patio cover. It looks great!"

"Travis brought our dream home to life! After struggling with another drafter who couldn’t quite capture our vision, Travis exceeded all expectations. Every space in the house is thoughtfully and practically designed, and his talent and experience are truly unmatched. He was attentive, easy to work with, and provided excellent customer service throughout the entire process. Our home is still under construction, and we constantly hear how perfect the layout is — a true testament to his skill and dedication. We couldn’t be more grateful!"

"Wally was able to take our general ideas for a sun room & turn them into a quality work of art.  His architectural knowledge & experience was extensive & his recommendations on hardware, materials of construction, best practices, etc. was impressive.  We went through several revisions as our ideas evolved & Wally was always patient, available & very professional.  His graphic systems allowed us to make revisions as we discussed the designs & see the results instantly in 3D views.  The level of detail was such that we felt we were standing in the new room.  Our Homeowner's Association indicated that it was among the best packages it had seen & approval was very quick.  We would highly recommend Wally."

Architects questions, answered by experts

An architect ensures compliance with building codes, maximizes space efficiency, enhances functionality, and integrates energy-efficient solutions. Their expertise can also improve workflow and customer experience.

A home elevator is a fantastic way to improve your home’s accessibility. Elevators allow anyone, even those who use wheelchairs or walkers, to safely move between floors within your home.

Dumbwaiters may allow you to move items up and down floors, and stair lifts can move people up and down, but elevators are the best option if you need space for people, their belongings, and/or mobility aids such as wheelchairs.

That said, home elevators cost more than other options, such as stair lifts. Consider your needs and your budget when deciding the best way to make your home more accessible to a person with a disability or a person who is aging in place.

Above all, the downside to building a new house is a longer timeline. You need several months to finish the build, depending on the supply chain and labor availability in the meantime. Building a home compared to buying one is also more expensive, both in the building process and when it comes to mortgage rates and property taxes.

While you will always work with a team of professionals at some point during your home build, homeowners with experience can take on some part of the process. Manage the initial brainstorm, brief writeup, and floor layout phase with minimal assistance before contacting a general contractor. And while you can purchase stock blueprints for some home designs, it's always best to speak with professionals when choosing one ideal for your property.

Greek Revival architecture was popularized in America in the early- to mid-1800s, around the time when archaeologists were discovering buried ancient Greek buildings. As a means of celebrating the democratic government in ancient Greece, American architects borrowed from those newly discovered buildings as a way to emphasize that America would remain a democratic country in the wake of the American Revolution.
