I explained this to Brian and he came over at once. He and the licensed AC associate figured out what was wrong quickly. It was too late in the day to pick up the needed part, so Brian generously offered to let me use a window unit in the meantime to keep my collection at the right temperature. By 10 the following day everything was fixed and running beautifully. To say Brian is timely and efficient would be quite an understatement.
