"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"It went well, we were delayed due to some custom faucets and shower head that needed more time for delivery (not the contractors fault). His workers kept the place clean and sent a cleaning crew when the work was over to make sure the place was in order."

"We had a lot of apprehension due to how we came to needing H&M's services but Maria's professionalism put that to rest and things went smoothly from there. H&M's works were prompt, communicative, and highly skilled. I was happy to see the areas of our house they fixed was in better condition after the repair than they were prior to how they were before they were even damaged. I look forward to redoing other parts of my house with H&M."

"We had approximately 2 acres of land in Spring TX for 2 years planing in building a new house .. We didn't had the right budget to begin to build a new home. We have got this company information form some of my friends and we called
them to receive an estimate.. They gave us a good price and the advice  us as they do help with loan approval drowning and design. Afterwords we decided to go with them and we ended very happy for the result we have now it took a little longer then we expected but finally we can move in to a new house.
Thanks Nicolas!"

"Everything went very well. Michael has been in the business for a long time and he has a considerable amount of experience. He arrived early and did the work in a timely manner. He provided some suggestions on how the project could be done and did a great job!! I will definitely use him again for my next project or home repairs!"

Custom Home Builders questions, answered by experts

No, a structural engineer is not the same as a builder. A structural engineer is an expert in all things related to the structural integrity of a building. The structural engineer is responsible for calculating the correct materials in terms of load-bearing capacity and overall structural safety. Structural engineers do not perform the actual building of the house or other structures. Rather, the builder executes the plans and designs specified by the structural engineer.

How long it takes to build a custom home or rebuild a home after a disaster varies depending on many factors, but averages between seven and 14 months. Smaller homes or homes that don’t need a re-poured foundation may take less time to build than larger homes or homes without an existing foundation. Material availability, contractor schedules, and permit and inspection timelines can all affect how long your house takes to build.

Yes, a home builder or contractor should have the proper licensing and insurance. Licensing requirements vary by state and municipality, but most states mandate that a builder holds at least a general contractor’s license. For specialized work such as plumbing, electrical, roofing, or sewage systems, individual licenses may be required, in which case the builder may subcontract the work. You can use Angi’s state licensing tool to review your local guidelines and confirm a builder's credentials. As you browse professionals, you can also look for the “Angi Certified” badge. This indicates the business meets our certification standards, which include passing a criminal background check, holding applicable state and local licenses, and maintaining an average rating of 3.0 or better.

Renovating or remodeling an existing structure is usually less expensive than the cost to build a new house. That’s because you can save on the costs of new building materials, laying a foundation, framing the entire building, and installing new materials and utilities throughout the house. However, if a home is in very poor condition or is incredibly old, you could spend more on upgrades and restoration compared to building from scratch.

One of the best ways to negotiate with a homebuilder is to forgo price reductions. Instead, negotiate over upgrades and incentives, as many builders are more willing to go down that road than to decrease their own fee. Even if they were willing to take a cut, a reputable homebuilder often knows their worth, so a willingness to negotiate could be a red flag. Beyond that, builders are typically willing to negotiate closing costs instead of offering a discount on the base price.
