"D&N fencing did such a great job!! Noah and Daisy were so nice. We did some looking around before we decided on D&N fencing but what made us choose them was not only the lower price from their competitors that we got an estimate from. It was their kindness and they wasted no time getting our fence done just the way we asked."

"I had this contractor and others evaluate the repair to a fence damaged by wind. This contractor was the only contractor who stated he could replace the section of fence in the brick retaining wall as it was originally installed. Others wanted to move the fence section into the dirt yard. Imagine what that selection would look like and loosing yard space. The original quote was for a section replacement. Instead, we elected for a 100% cedar fence replacement. After the fence removal and examining the metal post, other post were found. There were 7 metal post needing replacement. The new post holes were drilled into the brick retainer wall. Brick damaged by the original blow over and new drilling process were replaced with matching brick. All original connection hardware was replaced with new black hardware. All metal fence post were painted black to match the connecting hardware. This was a suggestion from the contractor. After a cure time, the fence was sealed with 2 coats of sealer. A very professional job and worth the money spent."

"A lot of small jobs at our property over the 8 years I’ve owned it. He built a custom iron fence around 1.2 it the 2.3 acres I own. Beautifully designed and fabricated and the installation went smoothly done. He’s painted my 1,600 ft shop, chip sealed my 600ft driveway, built my back porch deck, dry walled and framed a master bedroom and master bathroom addition to my house. The man is reliable and does excellent work. Anytime I want an upgrade or even small repair done to my house or shop he’s the man I can always trust and count on to get the job done!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In Odessa, most standard residential fencing projects take about 3–5 days, while privacy fences typically require 2–4 days, depending on soil hardness and weather. Chain link fences can be completed in 1–3 days, but custom or decorative fencing may take 5–10 days. Delays can occur due to high winds, caliche soil, or material delivery impacted by local oil field traffic.

Helpful?

Fence longevity in Odessa depends on deep-set posts to withstand wind, materials that resist UV and temperature extremes, and proper drainage to handle shifting clay soils. Using corrosion-resistant hardware is crucial due to potential chemical exposure. Quality installation and adherence to local building codes help ensure your fence remains sturdy, especially in areas exposed to oil field activity or frequent high winds.

Helpful?

In Odessa, new homeowners should prioritize perimeter fencing for property boundary definition and security, especially due to open landscapes and strong winds. Consider wind-resistant materials like metal or reinforced wood, and privacy screening if your home is near oil fields or busy roads. If you have pets or livestock, containment fencing is essential. Pool fencing is also important for safety and compliance if you plan to install a pool.

Helpful?

For Odessa fencing projects, keep a sturdy post-hole digger for caliche soil, fast-setting concrete, and galvanized hardware to prevent rust. A wire brush and rust remover are useful for metal fence repair, while a pressure washer helps remove oil dust. UV-resistant stain or sealant is vital for wood fences, and having extra pickets or panels ensures quick repairs after wind or weather events.

Helpful?

After installing fencing in Odessa, inspect the structure after the first strong wind and monitor for soil settling around posts. Clean off oil dust regularly and check for sun or wind damage each season. Apply UV protection to wood, tighten hardware, and make minor fence repairs as needed. Annual inspections and confirming property boundaries are especially important if your property is near mineral rights or oil operations.
