Pitched Roof---Shingles are by far the best performing application for medium to steep-sloped roofs. Today they come in a wide variety of dimensional styles, sizes, designer colors and warranties ranging from 20 years to lifetime. Shingles are made of various materials each with their own characteristics. • Slate & synthetic slate • Clay & Spanish tile (concrete) • Metal (Stand & Seam) • Wood shake shingles • Composition shingles—Most Common Flat Roofs--There are several applications for low-slope to flat roof systems. Flat roofs come in a wide variety of materials, colors, adhesives, range of thickness. Each system is designed to meet a structure’s specific waterproofing needs. • Built-Up Roofing-- is multiple layers of roof felts laminated together with bitumen. Underlayment can consist of bitumen-saturated felt, coated felt, polyester felt and/or other fabrics. Surfacing can be asphalt, aggregate (gravel or slag), emulsion or a granule-surfaced cap sheet. • Modified Bitumen is a single-ply asphalt membrane. Materials, such as layers of fiberglass or polyester, are added to the asphalt to add strength to a roof system. • EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) is a single-ply rubber membrane ranging from about 45 to 60mm in thickness. • TPO (Thermoplastic polyolefin roofing membrane—similar to rubber). The white membrane is attached either by fastening to the building's roof deck or fully adhered. This roof system is most commonly utilized for flat roofed commercial structures.

"Great Quality and quick."

We are a family owned, dedicated Land Survey company that strives to please our customers. We love to give back to our community & charity. We have a charity golf event every year for Scottish Rites Children's Hospital.

"They surveyed our property twice within two weeks, one was the original and the other was a revision. A corner point location between the two surveys differed by 8-9 inches. Yes, two separate measurements that differed by .7-8 feet, not 2-3 inches. Background. The property next door was sold, house demolished, and foundation framing started so we decided to get a boundary survey after seeing the house would dominate the lot and with feet of our property. We hired CMG to survey our property. After receiving the survey, we compared it with my neighbor’s survey. Along our shared property line, the corner point location differed by about 8 inches between the surveys. I contacted CMG to discuss this with my neighbor’s surveyor. CMG revised their previous survey which then aligned to my neighbor’s survey and the corner point was changed by 8 inches. I asked the supervisor at CMG how they could survey the same property twice, within two weeks, and come up with two very different locations for the NW property corner point. I considered an 8 inch difference between two measurements to be excessive and unreliable. CMG told me they used the same data as my neighbor’s surveyor for my revised survey. And that made sense. If you put in the same data and use the same method to calculate the locations, you better get the same result. He also told me that he signed the survey so it has to be trusted. I explained that he signed the original survey, which was intended to be the only survey, so it was to be trusted. The second survey was a revision of the first to resolve a conflict, and it too was signed. At that point, I decided to hire someone else to resolve the problem. I can only understand their revision as a way to avoid a legal conflict, not as a reliable survey to use for protecting your property."

Land Surveying questions, answered by experts

Land survey reports have a boatload of information relevant to several scenarios. Here are the types of information contained with a survey, though it depends on your chosen type of land survey. Exact boundaries and dimensions of a given property General topography, including both natural and artificial landmarks Location of utility fixtures, like water mains Confirmation of any easements or encroachments on a piece of property Assessment of land elevation to buy flood insurance Updated information to add to a pre-existing property map

When planning for land survey costs, you should consider the following elements as major contributors to the overall cost:

  • Size of your property in terms of acres or square feet

  • Complexity of the terrain in terms of hills, elevation changes, rocks, water, and other features

  • Type of survey you need (boundary survey, topographic survey, or a combination of survey types)

  • Distance traveled for the professional surveyor

If you can’t find any records online, you’ll need to contact your county clerk’s office to do further research. They should have property records on file, or can at least point you in the right direction of who to contact. You can also speak with your neighbors about when their houses were built because they were likely built around the same time.

Depending on property size and complexity, usually 1-3 weeks.

To prepare for a land survey, you must thoroughly check your land surveyor’s qualifications, reviews, and fees to align with your expectations. When it is time for the survey to be conducted, ensure that you have all your documents organized and available, know and mark your property lines, and inform your neighbors that the survey is happening.
