"I think their policy is a punitive one: to charge you $100 if you switch from recurring to one-time. I offered to pay the difference between a one-time fee and a recurring fee after I cancelled because I was dissatisfied. They stopped communicating with me when I asked that they remove their charge of $100 and they said that it was their policy to make the charge. I think this is a bad business practice, although it is their policy. So that is why I am not going to give them my business again. They can keep my $100, which I think is a punitive charge, but they will not get any more of my business."

Since carpet can be expensive to install and choosing a new carpet can seem daunting, it’s important to know when to repair your existing carpet versus replacing it.

If the damage to your carpet Is extensive, such as large sections needing to be replaced, it might be best to replace it. Decent carpet will last around 10 years on stairs. Some less durable carpets, like polyester, will only last five years on stairs. The ideal carpet, like wool or nylon, can last about 15 to 25 years. Carpets should always be replaced after smoke damage. Many factors affect how long carpet dye lasts, including the amount of UV rays that hit the carpet, causing it to fade.
