"Our home was hit by the Super Cell storm of January 10, 2020. Our roof was damaged in several places even to the point of exposing the raw wood under the shingles. We looked for a good reputable company to do our roof, we knew we wanted to replace the shingle roof material with a metal roof, one with the best gage metal and capable to withstand 120+ mph wind gusts. After reviewing four companies and their bids, we selected Green Knight to do our metal roofing for several reasons; first was the fact that Green Knight does metal roofing only, not shingles; second they demonstrated they had heard us and addressed our requests with proof of their work, having veteran roofing staff with the experience we were looking for; and third, which surprised us was the pricing. Green Knight had the most reasonable pricing and did not try to push us to go with another type of roofing material for our home. We knew also, that our roof construction was very complex, with challenging slope (9/12), and that it would require a capable company with the experience and expertise to install it properly and professionally. Green Knight did not disappoint us, they did a superb job and we are extremely pleased with their work, their warranty, their professionalism, and for their responsiveness to our requests and needs. We strongly recommend Green Knight to anyone looking to install a metal roof. They are the Real Deal! Thank you Green Knight!!!"

"If you are looking for a roofer, then stop right here and hire Duration Roofing and Construction NOT only do I have a great looking roof but the customer service is OUTSTANDING!!! I rarely give 5 stars but with this company I wish I could give more stars. When I was interviewing Roofers, Darryn, came out and not only did he give me a free estimate, but he walked me through the whole process of replacing the roof and help me understand how my insurance company would handle the claim. He gave me the facts and no pressure, which I so much appreciated. He was here the whole time while the roof was being replace to make sure NO short cuts were taken. If I had any questions and called he was the one who answered (which is so rare these days) or if I sent a text or e-mail he would respond so quickly it blew my mind. Not only does my roof look great, but his customer service was excellent, which is so rare to see these days. Roofers have such a bad reputations, but Duration roofing squashes everything bad about roofers. So again if you need a new roof I can not express or said it enough you would be crazy NOT to hire Duration Roofing and Construction."

"Great presintation! They explain all about roofing, product, if there will be any extra cost wood, look in your attic for damages, 3d pictures of your roof how it will look like after it's been done. Added extra ventilation where needed. Clean up was great. I have Dish, they paid the cost to have Dish come back out. There was no surprises! They delivered product one day, next day they removed old wood and replaced with new and extra ventilation. It's just beautiful! They went beyond did extra safety steps for the customer. My roof looks great, beautiful and I can't stop looking at it. We have the roof for Idaho weather not California. The cost is high but you will have a nice product you will not have to worry about for a very very long time. I would recommend this company they are a top quality roofing company."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

A roof can collapse from a leak if the leak is left unattended long enough. A collapse will happen when the structural components of your roof become saturated with water over time. The roof deck or rafters can slowly weaken until they can no longer support the weight of your roof.

Yes, a roof blister can cause a leak if it gets to the point where it pops. Prior to popping, a roof blister is just an aesthetic issue, but once it pops, you’re left with a small hole in the shingle. Water from rain and snow can easily get inside this hole and interact with your underlayment, roof decking, and the building material below.

Flapping shingles, or shingles that are lifting or curling away from your roof, can be glued back into place using roofing cement or sealant. Apply the glue underneath the shingle, then press it down firmly. You can leave a brick on top of the shingle to hold it in place overnight while the sealant dries.

The terms “roof shingles” and “roof tiles” are sometimes used interchangeably, but the term “shingles” most often refers to asphalt, rubber, metal, or slate shingles, and the term “tiles” normally means they’re made from clay or concrete. In all cases, shingles are small, rectangular components that a roofer layers in an overlapping pattern to protect the structure underneath from the elements.

Whether or not the terms of your roofing estimate are negotiable depends on the contractor. Some professional roofers will be willing to budge on labor fees to some extent, while others will simply walk away from the potential work rather than lower their fees. In most cases, it’s best not to negotiate the terms, as lower labor charges could lead to your contractor cutting corners. Material costs aren’t negotiable, but you could purchase them yourself to try to save on delivery fees and markups.
