"I had two very tall sycamore trees removed from my front yard by Ortiz Brothers Tree Service. Mr. Ortiz arrived at 8:00 am and got to work right away. His assistant arrived 90 minutes later. "I was extremely pleased and happy with the work and results of Good Morning Tree Service. I have a very large lot with 22 trees , ...oaks and cedar elms. It had been quite a while since these trees had been trimmed. There were quite a few high branches and â tonsâ of ball moss. The estimate for this tree trimming job was the middle bid of three bids. The crew of 5 was excellent and very conscientious in their work. They had to get pretty far up in the trees to trim. Every day they thoroughly cleaned up the yard. Good Morning Tree Service is an excellent company and I highly recommend them."

If you don’t trim your palm trees, you can expect several negative outcomes, including:

The best time to trim trees is in late fall through winter when the tree has slowed its growing for the year. Cold weather stops insects and fungal growth from attacking a new tree wound. Summer and fall are considered the worst times to trim trees, but it’s permissible in certain scenarios, such as tree disease, damaged branches, or small, aesthetic cuts.

Your neighbor is not in a good position to know if your trees are truly dead or pose any kind of danger. That’s why hiring an arborist or tree service expert can be such an important part of the process. If the trees are still alive and don’t pose any threat, you’re in the clear (but you may want to document and photograph everything in case events turn sour down the road).

But if a tree is visibly dead and near the property line, you should remove it to be safe. If a dead tree falls on a neighbor’s property, they may have grounds to sue for negligence. If any branches on trees have died, it’s a good idea to cut them back for similar reasons.

Completely topping a plum tree is a risky business. Cut too much, and you’ll kill your tree. That said, you do need to trim the top of your tree to encourage bushy growth, maintain your tree’s vase shape, and limit size. 

A plum tree's central leader (or trunk) should never extend more than 3 feet above the highest branch. When you first plant your tree, cut the central leader so it’s 2 to 3 feet tall. As it grows, cut it back 12 to 20 inches until it reaches its desired height. Never prune more than one-third of the new growth.

Leaving the tree stump and letting it rot is never a good idea, as this leads to insect infestations and other frustrations. Additionally, decomposing trunks are at risk for diseases that spread out to the remaining plants and trees in the yard, thus ruining your whole outdoor aesthetic. It's usually best to remove the stump at the same time you remove the tree.
