"Nino was absolutely the most professional person I have ever dealt with! Listened to what I wanted, gave me some very sound advice then gave me a quote on my front porch add-on. Once accepted, he showed up exactly when he said he would be there, every day until the project was completed. He kept me informed every step of the way. And it was completed in the time-frame he said, not a day later! My porch add-on is beautiful and it adds the character I was hoping for on our home! Thank you Nino!!"

"Rogelio built a master bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room. He framed in the walls, layed the floor joices, hung the drywall, ran the electrical, mudded/sanded, and tiled the bathroom. He did an excellent job from start to finish."

"They did a wonderful job. Very professional and cleaned up after themselves. I would not hesitate in referring them and they do more than trees. Next on list is a sprinkler system. We can't wait. Thank you for a job well done. ð"

"Anthony and his team did an outstanding job removing a tree from my yard. From start to finish, everything was handled professionally. They worked quickly without cutting corners, and the cleanup was just as impressive?my yard looked better than before they started. It?s clear they take pride in their work. Highly recommend Anthony if you?re looking for reliable, efficient, and top-quality service! ?????"

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Most Cape Cod houses are two stories tall at the peak, although they’re considered one-and-a-half stories tall because the steep roof pitch cuts off a portion of the living space on the second story. Unless you raise the roof on your Cape Cod house to add a dormer, the interior rooms upstairs will lose some usable living space to the sloped ceilings.

House framing can be expensive because the materials are pricey, and the job requires a high level of expertise. The more complex the plans, the more expensive the job, but even the most basic frame needs to be installed with high-quality materials and precision. When pricing your home’s framework, remember that a sturdy frame is necessary to create a safe structure.

One of the most common house framing basics for decades has been using wood for the framing work. However, some framing contractors now suggest using steel frames. Steel is lightweight, resistant to fire, and resistant to moisture, all of which are areas where wood framing could cause problems. However, steel framing is more expensive than wood and limits your ability to insulate the home.

When deciding whether to use nails or screws for framing, the specific needs of the project must be taken into account. Nails have long been the go-to option for framing due to their affordability, ease of installation, and ability to withstand shear forces. They are perfect for structural framing projects where fast assembly is essential. In contrast, screws offer exceptional holding power and are particularly useful in situations requiring increased strength and resistance to pull-out forces. For projects that prioritize accuracy and long-lasting quality, screws may be the preferred option, though nails remain a dependable and efficient choice.

Professionals ensure precise alignment and durability, critical for structural integrity.
