"A & A GenPro Electrical is the company if you need to install an Emergency Standby Power Generator. It's been a pleasure working with Andrew, Ashton, Tim, Rocky, Eric, and Pham. They just finished our install today, just in time for Harvey, if he comes this way. They handled everything; slab, generator placement, electrical, plumbing a new gas meter, all inspections, and an extensive full-load test. We highly recommend A & A GenPro Electrical if you're looking for a fixed generator. UPDATE 08312017: At times you find out more about a company after the install. I would give A & A GenPro Electrical 10 Stars if I could. Our generator developed a battery drain problem after the first night of continuous use, and despite the conditions associated with Hurricane Harvey, they showed up. Bob, Ashton, and Eric did the troubleshooting and the subsequent fix. Amazing folks who go above and beyond the call. Our Kohler got us through two more days/nights, and our power came back on last night, and it's now in standby mode."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Completing electrical projects in Livingston offers immediate safety improvements, especially in homes built before modern codes. Upgrading wiring or adding surge protection can help safeguard against frequent Texas storms. Over time, updated electrical panels and GFCI outlets support new appliances, reduce maintenance, and boost energy efficiency. These improvements can also increase your home’s value and make future renovations or insurance claims smoother in Livingston’s active real estate market.

Helpful?

In Livingston, electrical projects like installing outlets or GFCI outlets usually take 1-2 hours, while ceiling fan installation may take up to 4 hours. Upgrading an electrical panel can require 1-2 days, and whole-house rewiring often takes 3-5 days. Local factors such as weather delays, rural access, and permit processing can affect timelines, so plan ahead and coordinate with local electricians familiar with Livingston’s needs.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Livingston should prioritize an electrical panel inspection, as many properties have older systems. Installing GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces is essential, especially near Lake Livingston. Adding surge protection helps with storm-related outages, while outdoor lighting and ceiling fans improve comfort. For lakefront homes, consider dock electrical work and generator connections to handle Livingston’s weather and lifestyle demands.

Helpful?

For electrical maintenance in Livingston, keep a non-contact voltage tester, wire strippers, electrical pliers, a screwdriver set, and a flashlight. Stock up on wire nuts, electrical tape, a GFCI outlet tester, and a multimeter. Due to Livingston’s humidity and proximity to the lake, choose weatherproof outlet covers, moisture-resistant tape, and rust-resistant fixtures to prevent corrosion and ensure safe, long-lasting repairs.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Livingston should consider high humidity, frequent storms, and proximity to Lake Livingston when planning electrical projects. Using moisture- and corrosion-resistant materials is crucial, especially for outdoor or waterfront work. Permits are required for most electrical updates, and rural locations may affect contractor availability. Unique needs like well pumps, septic alarms, boat docks, and RV hookups are common in Livingston and should be factored into your project planning.
