"Danny Haddad did an outstanding job, installing all the lighting fixtures for Farrell Calhoun paint company. Where in this business having the right lighting is extremely important with our customers. Danny with DC Electric did an amazing job installing, all fixtures perfectly,Danny explained the process thoroughly and very clearly. "Andy did a great job on wiring a new building as well as adding cat 5 wiring to my existing home. He worked around some challenging access issues for the cat 5 install and made sure everything was working before he left. The quality of all the work was outstanding. He provided some good advice in one aspect of the install in the new build, helping me avoid a costly mistake. He was very friendly, timely, and easy to work with. His prices were entirely fair. I 100% recommend Andy!"

"We selected Blue Diamond Remodeling (BDR) from three competitive bids. BDR were excellent at doing the scope of work that we needed done. We had prepared a 13 page detailed scope of work document that listed everything that we wanted done as part of the Bid Package. BDR were responsible for demolition of the existing kitchen, internal walls, old electrical and old plumbing. They installed 4 new beams where we opened up wall to make a more modern open architecture house inside. Their Structural/framing subcontractor was exceedingly great and experienced. Once the walls were opened up BDR installed a new sub-electrical power panel to power all of the appliances per City of Austin Codes. We moved the location of the sink some 10 feet so BDR's plumbing sub had to open up the slab and route the hot & cold water and drain lines under the slab to the new location. Their electrician also installed new LED ceiling lights in the expanded kitchen. BDR supplied and installed all new floor tiles, backsplash and also refinished our existing hardwood flooring. They also insulated the open exterior walls and blew in new attic insulation ( this 1965 house barely had any). Overall, BDR gave us an excellent project manager who was here on site nearly every day. I strongly and whole-heartedly recommend BDR, we had an excellent experience. We got our own cabinets and countertops ourselves, and our supplier caused multiple delays, not in BDR's scope of responsibility, but BDR still got their scope done regardless of my scope."

"Everything went great. Chris took his time to get it 100% right and safe. We also had a couple of light boxes installed in our kitchen. This was our second time using OnTime electric and if/when the need for an electrician is needed we will only call them again. Great job."

"He did an excellent job, he showed up every day. He realized that he had underbid it which is why the other people charged more because there was fiddly stuff on the porch, it wasn't just slapping big pieces up. It was down to the fine detail work. He didn't ask for more but I paid him more. He's a one man everything. He pretty much works by himself. There were a couple day he sent some apprentices or something not to do the fine detail work. We told him we were under a deadline, we had to have it done by a certain date for bank stuff. He worked from first light until dark every day he could. There was day he was sick or had a family emergency and he still made the deadline. He really felt strongly about doing a good job and doing what he promised."

"From the call to see if they could install my new microwave vent hood I had a good feeling.  I didn't get an answering service or a machine but a real person at the business!  They just happened to have a cancelation so they were able to schedule me the same week.  Tim was on time and very professional, friendly and helpful.  He did a fantastic job and cleaned up afterward.  I will definitely use him again and will not hesitate referring him to my family, friends and clients.

"This project included two phases.  Phase one included remodeling the kitchen and small downstairs bathroom which was done in the fall of 2012.  In the kitchen this included refacing all the cabinets, replacing all cabinet doors, new tile floors, wiring of under counter lights, patching/texturing/painting all sheetrock, installation of crown molding, addition of a new large cabinet for the refrigerator, matching custom cabinets in the laundry room, painting the 20' high entry area and ceiling.  In the small downstairs bathroom it included new tile floors, installation of a new toilet and small vanity & sink.  In the kitchen, we chose to use cherry wood cabinet doors and veneer for refacing which increased the cost of materials considerably as we expected, but the result is the most beautiful set of cabinets we've ever seen.  We made it clear we wanted to remodel the upstairs bathrooms in phase two, but that would only be done if phase one went well.
Phase two was even more complex, and done in early 2013.  This included a complete remodel of both upstairs bathrooms, down to the studs.  New custom cabinets throughout, new granite & quartz countertops, tub/shower in the Guest Bath, an enlarged tile shower with glass surround in the Master Bath with new tub & granite deck and custom tile throughout.  It also included putting in new light fixtures, sink/tub/shower fixtures, adding crown molding, and painting both rooms completely.
Both phases of this large project started and ended on within the timeframe expected, though some efficiencies could have been gained at times based on which trades people were scheduled to come at what point in time.  The company is still working on this area to improve further, and we noticed improvement from phase one to phase two.
Every worker we met from Signature was professional, courteous, skilled at their trade, and wanted to do a good job and be sure we were happy with the results.  We had them all - plumber, electrician, tile guys, painters, carpenters, cabinet guys, granite installers, etc.  They were all very good and the end result of this project is absolutely excellent, we couldn't be happier with it.  The owners Emily and MJ were very good to work with.  Emily was excellent at helping us with tile & countertop design, layout and selection, which was a huge help to us.  MJ stopped by during the job at appropriate intervals throughout the project to check on progress.  Chad (head construction/cabinet designer and field manager) was phenomenal to work with, even more of a perfectionist that we are (hard to imagine that!).  Chad had many suggestions along the way, and has the expertise to know how the more complex parts of the job needed to be done.  There were a few surprises once we started the demo phase and walls were opened up, but Chad knew what to do in each case.  He is truly the best we have ever worked with.
Although remodeling is generally pretty disruptive while still living in the house, Signature did a good job to minimize the inconvenience for us.  While we had both bathrooms remodeled at the same time, the project was staged such that we always had a working shower, and a working toilet.  I'm sure that made it somewhat more difficult for them to schedule, but it worked great.
In summary, the end result of this large project is excellent and we plan to enjoy it for many years.

Chandelier Installation FAQs, answered by experts

Pendant lights are very versatile, and you can almost always find one with your preferred style that accepts your preferred bulb. Today, many fixtures use LED bulbs, though it’s still completely possible to find one that uses halogen, fluorescent, or even old-school incandescent bulbs. The manual that comes with your light should tell what types of bulbs you can use with it.

Yes! As a matter of fact, there are many sensors that add motion to existing outdoor lights. These motion sensors attach to pre-existing flood lights and other outdoor lights without any fussy and potentially dangerous electrical work. Additionally, some flood lights and related fixtures ship with motion sensors built-in.

The average cost to install a light fixture is $600, with a typical range of $200 to $1,100. The total cost depends on several factors, including the type and number of fixtures, wiring requirements, and your location. Additional costs may apply for removing old fixtures or for any necessary electrical or drywall work. Replacing an existing light fixture is generally less expensive than installing a new one because the wiring is already in place.

The simplest way to put Christmas lights on any metal surface is by using a magnetic hook or clip. You can also purchase magnetic lights, which should easily stick to any magnetic surface. Keep in mind that not all metals are magnetic. In that case, you’ll need to use a different clip.

It’s best to have the recommended support for any lighting fixture you install, and you could be risking injury to someone if you hang a chandelier without a stud. The chandelier could potentially fall, shatter, and hurt you or someone else, and you’ll need to have an additional hanging fixture, such as a hook to hold the lighting in place.
