"We had lightning rods installed at our home after having 2 previous lightning strikes. The first strike was minor, with only slight damage in the yard. The second was significant when a very large pine tree was hit close to our house causing various electrical issues in the home -- despite having a whole home surge protection system. Just months after having the lightning rods installed, lightning struck an even larger pine tree in our small back yard, Thankfully, the lightning rods saved us! It was a huge strike, and we had no damage at all in the house. These lightning rods were potentially life-saving."

"Sinewave came to do an electrical inspection for a pool project. I received a quote in a day. We hired this company among others we had called because they showed professionalism, they were on time, and explained everything that needed to get done and also worked with any concerns we had in reference to our ongoing pool project. Both master electricians Mr Fidel Velasquez and Mr Hector Velasquez came to our home to work and supervise workers. Their work is above standard and they get the job done right. I would recommend this company to my family and friends. They not only take pride in their work but they also care about the welfare about families. I can not express how important it is to have a licensed-experienced electrician to make sure that your home is safe especially to protect your loved ones. Thank you SineWave for taking the time to do a thorough inspection, professional job, and at the end of our pool project they will come back to make their final inspection (electrical) and tie up any ends that need to get completed."

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Laredo, address any sparking, burning smells, or exposed wiring without delay, especially if your breaker panel or air conditioning is affected during extreme heat. Missing GFCI outlets in kitchens or bathrooms also require prompt attention. Projects for added convenience, such as installing extra outlets or upgrading lighting, can be scheduled during cooler months when your electrical system is under less strain.

Helpful?

Begin with a comprehensive electrical inspection to assess your system’s safety and capacity for Laredo’s high cooling demands. Prioritize installing GFCI outlets in wet areas, upgrading surge protection, and ensuring smoke or carbon monoxide detectors are up to date. Confirm your air conditioning is properly supported. Adding weather-resistant outdoor outlets, LED lighting, and extra USB outlets can further enhance comfort and convenience in your new home.

Helpful?

In Laredo, unexpected expenses during electrical projects can include permit fees, mandatory code upgrades for older homes, or the need to replace outdated breaker panels. Homes with concrete slab foundations may require extra labor for wiring access. Extreme summer heat can slow progress for safety reasons. Additional costs might arise for grounding improvements, asbestos remediation, or using heat-resistant materials suited to Laredo’s climate.

Helpful?

If your Laredo home was built before 1980, experiences frequent breaker panel trips, or has too few outlets for modern electronics, it’s likely time for electrical projects. Noticeable signs include flickering lights, warm or discolored outlets, or a persistent burning odor. Homes in older neighborhoods or those struggling with air conditioning loads often need upgrades to meet current electrical codes and safety standards.

Helpful?

Laredo’s intense heat, high humidity, and frequent dust storms increase the demand on electrical systems, especially for air conditioning. Outdoor wiring and fixtures can degrade faster due to strong UV exposure. Scheduling electrical projects in Laredo from November to March, when temperatures are milder, helps ensure safer working conditions and reduces stress on your home’s electrical infrastructure.
