"My experience with Energy Attic USA went really well. They were very good price wise. They did a good job and they’re the only company that I find that would do a reading and barrier that actually use a metallic foil reading barrier that they would put in instead of spray. That’s what I wanted. It’s supposed to be much better. It’s all under insulation."

"Overall the experience was a pleasant one. The work was completed very promptly when they got the part, which only took one day as my service call was late in the day. The initial visit was scheduled for a 3 hour window, however they were an hour and a half late with no call to let me know. I would have preferred a call to let me know, but it wasn't a big deal. They wear little shoe covers any time they enter the house, which I really appreciate. I also had an issue with 1 room being warmer and the technician checked it out and corrected the minor problem causing it for no charge. (Something in the attic was just tossed on to the duct that went to that room, almost completely pinching it closed.)"

"Henry helped keep my HVAC going and suggested what needed to be done to keep the thing going Properly. He didn't hard sell or pressure me. He actually was very up front about everything. Taught me a bunch of stuff im the process. The quality of work is worth every penny you pay and stress you can avoid. His prices are very reasonable as well. I have dealt with several HVAC companies in the greater Houston area and they have left me paying more than what I should have. Also Henry said if I'm ever out of heat or AC to call him anytime and his business will be there to help you in the dead of night. Excellent!"

"Rep. checked entire system. He found several wires not connected properly and fixed this. He also made recommendations regarding the attachment of the panels to the rood that would provide more stability and leakproofing. The representative appeared to know what he was doing - much better than others, including the representative who was engaged by the roofer (who replaced our rood due to hail damage) to disconnect/connect the panels."

"I recently reached out to collective power to inquire about their energy solutions and services. Although I didn't have any services done with them, I was thoroughly impressed by the level of information and assistance they provided. The representative I spoke to was knowledgeable and patient in answering all of my questions. They took the time to explain various energy options, their benefits, and the potential cost savings. I appreciated their willingness to provide detailed insights, even though I was only seeking information at that point. Based on my experience with their customer service, I can confidently say that Collective Power values their potential customers and strives to offer valuable guidance. While I cannot comment on their actual services, the positive interaction I had speaks volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction and transparency. In conclusion, if their service matches the quality of the information they provide, I would not hesitate to consider Collective Power for my future energy needs."

Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

A small sump pump running infrequently uses an average of 10 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per month. The average cost for electricity is $0.171 per kWh. The size and use frequency affect how much electricity it uses. Sump pumps average one-third to one horsepower (hp) motors. One hp is equal to 745.7 watts. Watts multiplied by the time your pump is running divided by 1,000 equals your average kWh. Multiply kWh by your average cost of electricity. In areas with high rain or a marsh basin, the average cost can be as high as $15-$25 a month.

Setting your AC unit to 78 degrees can, indeed, help you save energy. In fact, according to experts, every degree you turn the unit up could save you between 1% and 3% on your energy bills. That said, turning your unit off entirely while you’re out might actually be less efficient than keeping it on at a higher temperature. Why? The unit will need to work extra hard to cool the house back off again after all those hot hours.

You can increase your home’s load factor by replacing fuse boxes with a circuit breaker, hiring a licensed electrician to upgrade your electrical panel, upgrading wiring, or installing subpanels. An electrical inspection by an expert can help determine the state of your current electrical systems and how they can be improved.

If your AC runs constantly, it could be due to a number of things, including a faulty thermostat, incorrect temperature settings, or broken equipment. Alternatively, you might have an airflow problem (for example, blocked vents or leaky ductwork). Either way, an HVAC pro can identify the specific problem and fix it for you.

Some types of electric fireplaces use more electricity than others. Models that produce 1,500 watts will have more of an effect on your heating bill than 750-watt models.

Electric fireplaces use an average of $1.85 of electricity every eight hours. These minimal operational costs aren’t likely to make a big difference in your electric bill—unless you’re using it as a primary heating source for your home and it’s running most of the time.
