We engineer our installations for each home to maximize air flow and heat reduction. We offer fiberglass blown in and batt insulation. We use premium insulation - Johns Manville Climate Pro. While I think the ROI on energy savings is hard to justify, it has made our home more comfortable and easier to cool on these 105 degree days. And I have noticed a 15-20% reduction in electric bills over last summer.
and the work was done professionally. The owner came and helped with the
very difficult project and is a perfectionist. Everything was done
better than quoted and even additional work to improve the efficiency of
the AC unit was done at no cost. I highly recommend this company.
I've used Angie's List a lot to get good contractors to work at my home. And I'm generally a very tough customer, because I stick my nose in everyone's work, ask lots of questions, and triple check everything before, during, and after the job is done. Usually, a contractor is just sick of me by the time they're done. But not these guys! They had a great attitude, did an outstanding job, and deserve every bit of new business they get via these reviews or via word of mouth. Their pricing was excellent as well.
I highly recommend!
My wife called Energy Attic to schedule an appointment for them to come out and change the configuration of the radiant barrier they installed during the summer of 2009. Since we had a new roof installed in April of this year, it was necessary for the radiant barrier to be modified slightly due to the removal of three attic vent fans and and the addition of several new ridge vents. It wasn't a large job, but something that affected the efficiency of our radiant barrier so it needed to be done.
To my surprise, they were in the neighborhood and were able to come out that same day to perform the service. The technicians arrived right on schedule and completed all their modifications within an hour. As they were cleaning up their materials, I asked how much it would cost and the tech informed me it was a free service and that their barrier was guaranteed for life. I said, "are you sure? This wasn't exactly something resulting from a product or installation defect." The technician checked his paperwork (iphone actually) and said that it was covered, and there was no charge. I was very surprised and pleased. This is a good company.
FWIW, Energy Attic installed radiant barrier along with an extra 12 inches of insulation, and several additional soffit vents back in the summer of 2009. It made a huge difference in the comfort of our house. The AC is now able to keep the house cool the entire summer, (even during the 69 days last summer when the temp was 100+ degrees), and our electic bill decreased by an average of 40% in the summer and about 25% in the winter. I wasn't an Angie's list member at that time so I didn't write a review then, but thought I'd mention it now. This system really works well. Every one we dealt with, then and last week, from the office staff to the crew foremen to the installation technicians was polite and professional and it's obvious they take pride in their work. It was money well spent, and knowing what I do now, I'd certainly do it again.
The clients were very pleased with their service and timeliness. They reported that Energy Attic was very conscientious and returned when requested to ensure some recessed lighting was stable and that the electrical components not compromised. They assisted in filing rebates. The Owner made a site visit from his office in Boerne which speaks of good management and oversight.
I am grateful in the care Energy Attic took with our clients because their performance reflects on our professional judgement and the ability to serve our clients well.
