"I recently had the pleasure of working with Tigers Tree Services & Landscaping, and I cannot say enough good things about their professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction. From the very beginning, they were incredibly polite and attentive. What really impressed me was how they took the time to fully understand the scope of the work I needed done, asking thoughtful clarifying questions to ensure everything was exactly as I envisioned. Another great aspect of their service is that they are fully bilingual, easily communicating in both Spanish and English, which made the entire process even smoother. They made sure I was comfortable and informed at every step. Their efficiency was unmatched—they worked quickly but with precision, and when they were finished, the area was spotless. It was as if they hadn’t even been there, except for the outstanding results of their work. What truly sets Tigers Tree Services & Landscaping apart, though, is their follow-up. They had initially come by my house about two months ago, but I didn’t have the time to get the work done then. True to their word, they checked back at the exact time I had asked them to, showing not only their commitment but also how much they value their customers. If you’re looking for a tree service that’s polite, professional, and reliable, I highly recommend Tigers Tree Services & Landscaping. They go above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy!"

"I had two very tall sycamore trees removed from my front yard by Ortiz Brothers Tree Service. Mr. Ortiz arrived at 8:00 am and got to work right away. His assistant arrived 90 minutes later. They did a splendid job of cutting, grinding roots and trunks, and cleaning up the yard. The price to do the work was extremely reasonable. I couldn’t be happier with the project. I highly recommend Ortiz Brothers Tree Service."

"I hired Joshua with Box Tree Care to cut down trees that fell May 9th and trim up other trees / branches. He responded immediately, is courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, arrives on time, very prompt and his crew goes out of their way to make sure a great job is done, even if Joshua has to leave for a minute. They went around picking up odd branches without being told or asked. They cleaned up and hauled everything off. Very fast workers. I highly recommend Joshua for your arborist needs. He and his team are great!!"

"Mr. Luis Prado and his co-workers were prompt, courteous and professional. Any questions I had were answered completely and to our mutual satisfaction. Mr. Prado explained to me what he was about to do, why he was doing it and gave great advice as to future maintenance of the property. His prices are very fair and the work done was exceptional. All cost were fully explained prior to the beginning of the work. His estimate as to what needed to be done was free and concise. We had some bushes, shrubs and trees which needed to be cut back. He and his co-workers also mulched and weeded the property while also putting down compost and feed where needed. My wife and I were very pleased with the work done and highly recommend Prado's Tree Services."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

No, you should never top maple trees. Topping injures the tree and leads to the rapid growth of a weak canopy, which can be hazardous to rooftops and utility lines. Removing the crown can also leave the interior bark vulnerable to sun damage, leading to insects and disease. A topped tree can also reduce property value and permanently damage the appearance of a tree.

Light-bark trees are most notorious for producing lots of sap when wounded. These varieties include maples, birches, poplars, dogwoods, magnolias, and elms, and they will bleed more when the trees are dormant. That’s why it’s a good idea to prune them in the summer months rather than waiting until winter.

Often, it’s the homeowner’s responsibility to handle the aftermath when a neighbor’s tree falls on their property. But if a tree has been obviously dead for a significant period of time and caused damage when it fell, a case can be made that the owner should have removed it, especially if the neighbor wrote you a letter about the tree or asked you to take it down. This can be grounds for a successful lawsuit in claims court and is a good reason to always pay attention to your trees and remove dead trees before they fall.

It’s not always easy to tell when a tree is dying, although signs like dropping branches and brittle bark can sometimes offer clues. It can also be difficult to know whether a tree is dead or dormant, especially if it’s a deciduous tree. You’ll want to wait until a growth season to get a good idea of a tree’s health. When in doubt, contact an arborist for a consultation.

Pruning can impact cold hardiness—but it’s less about the exact temperature and more about temperature variation. Generally, you don’t want to prune trees when there’s a risk of temperatures suddenly dropping from 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit to 0 degrees Fahrenheit or below. A tree is most sensitive until 48 hours after it’s pruned.
