"Great. Mark took a look at what was needed. We were able to schedule the work the next week. Jason and Marcus were onsite on schedule and took care of the job efficiently. I had hired Mark before to retrofit missing baffles in a different house. His great work then prompted my contacting him again when we moved into our current house this year. I would certainly contact him again the next time the need arises."

"Orlando and his Crew did an exceptional job of performing our attic insulation removal, sealing, sanitizing, and replacement to R38 as well as installing radiant barrier! They carefully protected our floors and walls before starting any portion of the work. Orlando kept us fully up to date during all of the work. The crew left our home clean after finishing their work. Shai was quite professional during the estimating process and checked in with us while Orlando's crew was performing the work. Amy was always responsive to any questions we had throughout the project, from estimate to completion. Pro Attic is highly recommended."

"Remy got the job done in one day as promised. He installed baffles to protect the air flow from the soffits, installed the insulation and even discovered one of my AC ducts had come apart and fixed that too. My attic has never been in better shape. I would definitely recommend Insulation Discounters."

"Friendly service. Seems as if there should have been one more person on the crew to help with installation. Angi shows that she accepts credit cards. She informed me that she does not. Her invoice indicated that she accepts PayPal but she does not. Make sure you check the lower walls if blown in from the top. Firebreaks in my home were preventing blown in insulation from filling the entire wall cavity."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

The entire window replacement process, from the initial consultation to the final installation, typically takes between four and 15 weeks. This timeline accounts for measuring appointments, ordering, and manufacturing. On the day of the job, the physical installation takes about 30 minutes to two hours per window. A full-house replacement can take one to three days to complete. Factors that can extend this timeline include the total number of windows, custom sizes, complex window types, second-story installations, and any necessary repairs to existing window frames or openings.

An egress window is similar to a regular window. However, this type of window opens fully to allow people to escape the home or rescue personnel to enter the home if an emergency occurs. Egress windows are required in all finished basements before they can be considered a living space.

Yes, egress windows must meet local building codes for size and accessibility. Professional installers ensure compliance.

The average cost to install an egress window is approximately $3,900, with a typical range between $2,500 and $5,300, though costs can be higher. The final price is influenced by several factors, including the window's size, type, material, and glass quality. Other variables include labor costs, location, excavation needs, and whether permits or a structural engineer consultation are required. The price of the window itself often depends on the number of panes:

  • Single-pane: $100–$400

  • Double-pane: $200–$500

  • Triple-pane: $300–$800

Additional features like window wells or covers will also increase the total project cost. It is advisable to obtain multiple quotes from professionals to get a comprehensive understanding of the expenses for your specific project.

Yes, you can always make an existing window bigger, but the job complexity varies widely depending on the location of the window and the framing around it. Exterior walls are always load-bearing, so making windows wider will require structural changes that make for a more complex but doable project. Making windows taller often won’t require structural changes.
