The quality of the work was shoddy and unprofessional, a lot of shortcuts were made in the trimwork and doors were hung without shimming or weatherstripping. The outside of the house was painted and you could see where it is really thin and where he started and stopped. The entire house will need a second coat and they said they are not going to fix it. Trimwork needed to be removed to install the flooring and was found to be shimmed and not nailed correctly. We will need to hire another contractor to repair their mistakes as the homebuilder paid them and we do not want them back on the property. The closet shelves were done right, thats about all. I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after repeated attempts at getting it right, just failed. I hope they sort out their problems. They used to be a reputable contractor from what the homebuilder tells me."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/portland/karsch-contracting-reviews-6285307.htm"},"position":6},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"TEJAS FORENSIC ENGINEERING","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"TX","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Linda P."},"reviewBody":"On 5/16/2013, one of the original engineers showed up at my door without calling. He had a friend that wanted to look at work that needed to be done. I was supposed to be emailed a report with details of the problem, an estimate of what the cost was going to be to fix the problem, and an invoice for coming out. I did not like that they came back without calling first. Finally, on July 6,2013, I received in the mail an invoice and report and an estimate from Precision Pier & Beam Foundation Repair. Maybe it normally takes 2 months to work up a report. I will pay the invoice amount for the inspection report, but will get a couple more bids for the repair work. My only complaint would be that they took so long. The engineers were very nice. So I'm managing the repairs on his new house from 1958. So I'm dealing with construction right now. We had a fence build last year, where they used nails that were too long and they stick inside. I fell and put a hole in my eyeglasses from the nail protruding in the fence. It snagged my clothing and I fell against the fence and it put a hole in my temple and brand new eyeglasses. I was not happy. He does like this contractor but I don't want to deal with him anymore. The price is top dollar. So far top dollar, I expect him to supply his employees with the right length of nails and to supervise the job. That didn't happen. They put the fence up out there with hundreds and hundreds of nails. My husband even bought a special tool to nip the tips. We're not young anymore and he doesn't have the hand strength to clamp down on the tiny tips of nails. Until the next hurricane, we're stuck with it. It was $3800 for a front yard fence and it stabs us. I think, overall, he does good work but he didn't pay attention to his workers. Overall, they do pretty good work. In the past, they've done good work but I'd very reluctant to hire them again. He's sort of one of the higher priced ones. I just got bids on a garage, it has three sides but it's a carport as far as most of us. The new owner wanted to turn it into a garage with a door. I got three bids and his bid was the top one by far. Jim didn't want to complain because Jim likes him so there's no responsiveness issue there. They came in quickly. I don't really want to pay anymore money to fix the problem. I'll just put up with it."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/kingsville/manana-construction-reviews-5342868.htm"},"position":8},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Wright Construction","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"TX","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Jim B."},"reviewBody":"Caontacted them and someone came out an measured and talked aobut what we wanted. George is responsive, fair priced, has what he needs on the truck and gets the work done. I recommend George and his assistant Bruce for overhead garage door service.

He does great work - if you can get him to show up... After nine months of waiting for our doors to be installed, he made up every excuse to not show up and work. He then tried to demand more money for the project, even though we already had agreed in contract how much the project would cost....

FAQs for garage door service projects in Kingsville, TX
Garage door repairs cost$260 on average but can range anywhere from $80 to $675. Factors such as the type of repair needed, the style of your garage door, and the material your door is made of all play a part in the final price tag.
For example, wood garage doors look beautiful but are prone to dents, splitting, and cracks that are difficult to fix. You can expect to spend an average of $200 to $300 to repair your wooden garage door. Fiberglass garage doors are more durable and less expensive to fix, averaging around $100 to $200.
The cost of replacing garage door panels is around $1,200 for the average homeowner. However, depending on a few factors, you could pay as little as $250 or as much as $3,000 or more. Considerations like panel style and the type of garage door you have all factor into what you pay.
While sectional garage doors are common among homeowners, they are often the most expensive to replace, averaging around $700 to $2,400. Tilt-up garage doors, which are the simplest door available, range from $400 to $1,400.
Annual to biannual routine garage door maintenance is vital to extending its life as much as possible. Most importantly, noticing any unusual sounds or movements and taking care of them as soon as possible is one of the best ways to maintain your garage door. Keeping the tracks clear of dirt and debris and lubricating the rollers and other moving parts twice a year will also help to get the most out of your door.
Even though garage doors can last 15 to 30 years, it’s important to recognize the signs of wear and tear or other damage that might cause the need for a repair or replacement. A big sign that your garage door needs repair or replacement is the door not opening and closing correctly, including moving slower than usual. Also, if you notice that your garage door is becoming warped or overly weathered, it’s time to call a professional to discuss your options and tips for buying a new garage door.
Garage doors generally last between 15 to 30 years, depending on many factors. Your location plays an essential role in your garage door’s lifespan—doors exposed to harsh elements like heavy rain or intense heat might not last as long as those installed in a milder climate. How often you use your garage door also factors into its overall lifespan. Generally, standard garage door springs can withstand 20,000 cycles, whereas tension springs typically last between 5,000 and 10,000.
