"Terrible company. Possibly a scam. They attempted to sell me a part they didn't even have, and after waiting patiently for OVER A MONTH, I canceled my order. When calling them to confirm, they told me they never had the part to sell to me. What a joke!"

"I have spent 4 different days at home waiting for a sears technician... they send 4 or 5 texts and emails all week to make sure that I'm gonna be there, then they send me the schedule and it shows a tech and he will be coming by at 4pm... and then NOTHING... after hours get an email saying that they are rescheduling for the missed appointment TEN DAYS LATER... one gentlemen did actually show up, determined that I needed parts, set it up, the parts were shipped to me, Sears AUTO ROBOT calls me and I have to call an 800 number and confirm that I received the parts... well I did that and the next day (of which I'm scheduled for service) the same robot calls me again and says the same thing, I call teh 800 number, teh call takes over 35 minutes to do exactly what I did the previous day... they tell me I'm in the system, I get "rescheduled", I waste another F'n day stuck at home cause the window is 8am to 5pm... and THEY DON'T F'N SHOW AGAIN, I get a text and an email at the end of the day saying they I've been rescheduled for TEN MORE DAYS FROM NOW... 36 days I've been trying to get this damned thing fixed and you cant talk to a human... all their communication is to make sure that someone is home and they will get paid, they dont give an F about anything else or customer service"

"Absolutely do not recommend. I told him my pressure washer is leaking oil. He asked if it is hard to start to which I said yes. My pressure washer was ready the next day. He said his tech did some work on the oil leak, but when I hooked everything up the next day while at home, it still leaked. I was charged $190 for the tune up and the leak repair. I called him about the oil leak and he said to bring it back. Over a week later after a calling him a couple times, he said to come and pick it up and we could talk about the oil leak. When I arrived, he inquired as to where's the oil leak. I showed him that it was underneath. He said they don't repair the pump. Huh? He asked, what did I expect. I said a proper evaluation and a phone call to the customer that they don't repair pumps to which I would've said to stop everything. Yet I was charged for repairing an engine oil leak that did not exist. He did not offer to fully reimburse me for the failed repair. When I asked for the difference of the tune up (A1lawnrepair.com advertises $79 + parts for lawnmowers and riding mowers $129 plus parts). I figured the pressure washer would be the same as a lawnmower, he said the tuneup cost $150 (parts = $29 tune kit, plus oil, and a spark plug (they cleaned, not replaced). He raised his voice several times and said "you people" are trying to take advantage of him. After I offered a $20 refund, he wanted to me sign a receipt. I decided to just walk away because I did not want to be a part of the conversation that accused me of taking advantage of him though he never proposed a refund amount. Thanks for nothing except wasted time and a $190 tuneup."

Lawn Tool Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, many repair services include blade sharpening as part of the maintenance package.

Replacing a lawn mower pull cord yourself should only cost you the supplies, which comes to around $25. For more complex repairs, you’ll need to get a quote from a local lawn mower repair shop.

The best and safest way to deal with used motor oil is to bring it to an approved facility to be recycled and refined into new material. You may see recommendations to use old oil as an equipment lubricant or wood stain, but using it in these ways can be dangerous, messy, and environmentally irresponsible.

Tune up your lawn mower once a year or every 100 hours of run-time.

There are a few reasons why a lawn mower cord won’t pull, including an engine jam, a tangled cord, a broken recoil starter, or poor maintenance. To troubleshoot, turn the mower off. Then, inspect the cord, look for any tangles, and gently pull it to identify where the resistance starts. If you’re not seeing any obstructions, you may need to call in a professional for repairs.
