"While getting quotes recently to replace water damaged flooring upstairs, I asked about finally replacing ONLY a small section of horribly scratched up planks downstairs right where I’ve seen them EVERY Day for years. 😩🤯 However, no one would touch the job and advised we replace the entire floor! I needed a miracle worker and that’s what I got with Alfred of Almichaels flooring repair. From the get-go, Alfred was prompt, professional and personable. With decades of experience, I felt confident the repair would be done well. Cut to today : The very polite and efficient workers just left and I could not be more pleased! The floor is so beautiful again, and I can’t even tell which boards are new. I’d highly recommend Almichaels and Alfred, especially when you need a miracle! This was a perfectly smooth process. I just wish I’d thought to take before and after pictures."

"Nick and his team at Diamond Flooring were incredible! They came in right before the holidays and tackled 3,000 sqft of tough rug glue and crud from our floors?and got it done flawlessly. They also stained our bathroom floor a beautiful espresso, and we couldn?t love it more! The team was professional, efficient, and friendly, and the price was just as impressive as their work. I would highly recommend Diamond Flooring to anyone looking for top-notch service!"

"Saul was so communicative and flexible during our first consultation. I was moving to Texas from out of State and I wanted to have epoxy done before our household goods arrived. He accommodated our schedule and time. From prep to the end, our 3 car garage epoxy floor was done nicely and professionally. I would hire Saul again in a heartbeat. Price was also great. I did a lot of research before hiring him and it was a good choice. Do not hesitate to hire Saul for epoxy. My garage looks great!!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Impervious or vitreous tile and vinyl flooring work best for the kitchen. These surfaces are non-porous (or have a very low porosity) that can stand up against spills, splashes, and plumbing leaks. Some natural stones are also a good fit, but keep porosity in mind. You may need to seal them to avoid stains and water damage to the subfloor.

Carpet glue is very sticky, but it's not permanent. The glue usually lasts as long as a typical carpet installation, which is five to 15 years. For the best results, you should always use the right type of carpet glue for the area you're using it in. There are carpet glues for high-traffic areas, which are more high-quality and durable than others.

What a buyer prefers usually depends on the home’s layout and which material fits the current aesthetic. The local real estate market can also dictate these desires to some extent, as do the buyer’s personal preferences. With that said, laminate can increase the resale value of a home by a tiny bit, whereas carpet does not. Hardwood increases the resale value by the highest amount.

It takes about one to two days to remove carpet and install laminate flooring for small and medium-sized rooms. A larger room may take an extra day to complete. If you’re replacing flooring throughout your house, expect closer to one to two weeks, depending on your home’s square footage.

In most cases, carpeting isn’t kind to the wood that it’s attached to. Most carpet installation uses adhesive or nailing strips, both of which will damage wood. Conversely, you can choose to use an adhesive designed to be removed from wood, in which case carpeting can actually protect your hardwood stairs.
