They did my mother's yard for a couple years. It was always a big headache. Wouldn't do what I asked them to do. Always had to call or email several times to get things straightened out. Not worth the hassle at all.

Smith Lawn & Tree recently re-did our side yard. I say “re-did” but they basically started from scratch with an uneven, overgrown pasture with poor drainage that we couldn’t use or enjoy at all. Smith extended our fence to give us a larger space, set the fence in a new retaining wall that they poured to protect our landscape investment from washing out, mounted on the fence custom-made trellises to match the aesthetics of our home and style, leveled the entire space, constructed a hardscape area according to our design ideas, installed new irrigation zones, and gave us beautiful grassy space and plant beds. Our goals were to have an attractive outdoor living space that (1) didn’t blow our budget, (2) gave us privacy without blocking our neighbors’ windows with an ugly solid fence, and (3) addressed leveling and drainage concerns for long-term sustainability. We are thrilled that Smith delivered all of this with a level of professionalism, responsiveness and service well beyond what we expected! We love our new space and are very eager to recommend Smith at any chance we get!

From my perspective this was a relatively large job w/multiple parts. I had requested other bids & Smith Lawn & Tree seemed reasonable & was a little lower than some others. An arborist on their staff came & assessed what would be good to do & explained thoroughly what he recommended & what he didn't recommend (I had my own ideas but his were better!).
Removing the Hackberry was a full day job as it had to be cutdown in sections. They kept the debris very well confined & the cleanup was thorough.
They came back a second day to do the other trimming I requested.
I did have some questions when they were done & I really appreciated their willingness without hesitation to comeback a third day & to do some add'l trimming on the Live Oak. To me that demonstrated a customer service ethic that makes me want to use them for other needs & recommend them w/o hesitation.
One thing to note was they use an "industrial size chipper" that takes a pretty large truck to tow. It wasn't inconvenient for me but I suppose it could be in tighter circumstances (or neighbors who aren't flexible!).

Smith Lawn and Tree sent out their arborist to do the initial evaluation of what needed to be done. He advised the two large globe willows we have had borer worms and that was reason several large limbs were dead or dying. He took picture and explained what the team would do.
They arrived early on 10/29. They had a chipper to grind up the limbs. They used the photos so that they knew what needed to be cut. They worked for approximately 6 hours. They racked up all the remains and made sure all the gates where shut so that animals couldn't get out.
The arborist responded back with email about what treatments could be done to eliminate the borer worm and get the willows healthy now that the dead sections were removed. I did take their advice and get the chemicals from Home Depot and treated the trees. They seem to be doing much better and will know more when spring comes and they leaf out.
Smith Lawn and Tree did a great job with fantastic follow up. Highly recommend them for any tree work that is needed.

We well - they were very professional and responsive and answer numerous questions to satisfy the need to remove a very loved plumb tree that was past saving. In fact they had to make several trips to ensure that the tree could not be saved and did so without complaint.

We called back in March. The specialist John told us that live oak trees are better serviced after June due to potential fungal infection. So the service was provided this month. The crew removed about 20% of the branches and the tree (about 28 feet high) now looks much "cleaner". They also cleaned our driveway, lawn, and hauled away all the trash.

A tree in my backyard had fallen to the ground due to the saturated ground from all the rain and high winds we had in May. The tree took our fence out with it and landed in our neighbor's back yard. Naturally our neighbors were anxious to have the tree removed from their property as soon as possible. I called several places for an estimate including Smith Lawn & Tree ("SLT"). Several other places I called didn't call me back at all, and another that did gave me an estimate nearly 3x the one SLT gave me (which was also consistent with an independent insurance adjuster estimate I got ahead of time). Also, SLT returned my call the same afternoon I called and was able to actually do the work the very next day after I authorized it be done. I was especially impressed and appreciative of SLT's ability to get the work done so quickly given all the extra workload they had at the time due to the stormy weather north Texas had just experienced. The work crew also arrived on time, was courteous, did a thorough job removing the fallen tree, and cleaned up afterwards. I couldn't have asked for better service and the price was in line with what I was expecting. I hope to not have to have a fallen tree removed again, but if I do, I will definitely use SLT again.
