"They arrived when they said they would. Communicated with us very good. Did exactly what we agreed to. Cleaned at the end of each day and at the end of the project. We love the finished walkway."

"We had Young Landscaping replace 70+ plants damaged by winter freeze. There prices were reasonable, and plant material used was excellent. The crew showed up on time (with the owner Dagan) and they did the job in half a day with no drama. The whole process was efficient and the job looks great."

"The Granitite Man was professional, his bid was in line with the bids I received from other granite installers; however, I based my decision not to use his services because I had a referral from a personal friend on the granite installer.  Otherwise, I would have probably used the Granite Man.  He seems very competent.

"Great work in a short period of time. Contacted Matt about redoing the landscaping in our flower bed and around the trees in addition to installing some sprinkler heads. He came out to our house and discussed some ideas with us at the beginning of the week and the job was complete by the weekend. The project looks great and the irrigation works perfectly, very happy with Southern Grounds Team. Thank you again, Matt!"

Fountains questions, answered by experts

Natural swimming pools are designed to deter pests, including mosquitoes. While any body of water can potentially attract pests, the natural filtration system keeps the water clean and constantly moving. Mosquitoes specifically are attracted to standing water, so the continuously circulating water in a natural pool makes it an inhospitable environment for them.

Lifespans vary by material and manufacturer, but pond liners last anywhere from 10 to 75 years. For example, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pond liners have a life expectancy of up to 20 years. Other types of pond liners, including those made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), can last 40 to 50 years.

The average pond maintenance cost is $2,000. But how much you pay to take care of your pond depends on multiple factors, such as the size of the pond and whether fish live in it. Your area's climate also affects the overall maintenance cost, as you may need to winterize your pond to protect it and any aquatic life in it during the colder months.

When deciding whether or not to turn off your pump, you should consider your area’s climate and the aquatic life in your pond. If you live in an area with freezing winter temperatures and don’t have any wildlife, keeping your pump on could damage it. If you have aquatic life but live in a colder climate, you might consider keeping your pump running and adding a pond heater.

Yes, it is possible to make a fountain without a pump, though it may seem less intuitive and will require a bit more effort to use. In lieu of an electric pump, there are a few options including hand-cranked pumps or sprinkler systems that can work to provide water for a fountain.
