"David and his team were professional, punctual, and did exceptional work! I was so appreciative of how easy he made the process. From beginning to end! I have had a lot of work done to my home within the past few months since Hurricane Beryl with many different interactions with workers. David and is amazing assistant Parker, are head and shoulders above them all. They even made sure I had nothing to clean up afterward. I will 100% recommend Texas Choice Glass and Mirror to anyone I know needs their services in the future. Top Notch!"

"The job has not yet been done; so it is difficult to answer some of the questions objectively. Call and tell the worker to complete the job before long; he was here a week ago!"

"The entire process went quite smoothly from the design evaluation to the installation. We were given a multitude of frame choices from which we picked two. A quote was provided at athat time. Once we ordered, the installation occurred within a week and took approximately an hour. The effect of the frames is dramatic, much more than I anticipated. At the outset I didn't know what to expect and after having gone through the experience would recommend Mirrorcle Frames unequivocally."

"The job was performed in two phases, first the shower, than a few days later, the windows. In both cases, Enrique and Isaac showed up on time. They did an excellent job in all aspects of the work. I should note that Raintree's price was the low bidder of three bids. The promptness and quality of work was superb. I highly recommend Raintree for Glass work. I would not hesitate to have them do additional work at my house."

"We wanted a storm door that would be sturdier than the previous door we purchased at the big box store. We also wanted professional installation. The salesman sat down with us and: 1. Gave a free quote 2. Measured the door frame 3. Suggested a bronze frame to blend in with our wood grained front door. 4. Suggested the satin nickel door handles. 5. And suggested the glass thickness for greater storm protection. 6. hauled off the original broken door. 7. And was up front of the 3 week turn around time before installation. The installers were: 1. courteous adressing us as yes sir and yes ma'am. 2. Meticulous making sure the door frame was strong enough to securely hold their door. 3. Did not leave until I had a chance to review their work and ask questions. I would definitely use this company again."

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Heavy glass tends to be more expensive than thin glass because it is stronger and more durable. In most cases, ¼-inch-thick glass is ideal for mirrors, and ⅛-inch-thick glass is ideal for residential windows. Heavier glass isn’t always necessary, and can be more challenging to hang or install. Work with a local window installation pro for replacement or new construction windows.

Glass block windows typically last for 15 to 30 years, which is slightly less than the 20- to 50-year lifespan of standard windows. You can extend their life by resealing them every few years. Professional installation is also key to ensuring the windows are placed correctly and will function properly for years to come. A professional installer will have the necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to install these features and can identify potential issues like damaged frames or cramped areas during a consultation.

Luckily, glass block windows need minimal maintenance. Other than regular cleaning, the only maintenance involved in having a glass block window is inspecting for cracks every year and applying sealer to the mortar joints if the blocks are set in masonry mortar. Glass block windows hold up well against wind and moisture better than traditional windows and are not prone to rot.

Regular cleaning with non-abrasive cleaners helps prevent buildup and maintains clarity.

Glass block windows come in various patterns and styles that offer privacy and unique aesthetics. Frosted or textured glass diffuses light and enhances privacy. Wave-pattern glass blocks imitate ocean waves with flowing lines. Ice-glass blocks resemble cracked ice. Fluted glass blocks feature parallel vertical grooves, adding texture and depth. Clear glass blocks, similar to glass Coke bottles, offer transparency with some distortion and may have smooth surfaces or subtle textures, adding visual interest.
