"When we originally contacted Cliff Morgan, I had to leave a voice mail.  He called me back within a couple of hours, and agreed to come take a look at the leak in addition to providing a free estimate.  He arrived on time and was very professional.  After listening to various water sources (sinks, shower, outdoor spigot, etc), he believed the leak was between the sink and the shower in one of the bathrooms.  He gave me a couple of leak scenarios and the associated repairs that would be done along with a best case estimate and a worst case estimate (noting that the cost could exceed the worst case if there was something that could not be foreseen with the repair).  He was available to do the work the next day, so we agreed.
He called the next morning to let me know he was on his way and arrived on time.  He spent time methodically testing the water lines to pin point the offending pipe.  As he originally thought, the leak was on the cold side between the sink and shower in one of the bathrooms.  The repair was effective and efficient and he explained everything that he was doing.  The pieces cut out of the walls were small and neatly done.
Best of all, the total bill was actually *less* than the best case scenario quote, which was great news.
While we hope we never see him again (we don't need any more slab leaks!), we would not hesitate to contact him again.  Additionally, we'd highly recommend him.to anyone that needs his services.  If all contractors were like Cliff, home repair/update projects would be *far* less frustrating!

"When he came with the toilet, he found that it was broken in the box, so he had to take it back and get another one. He was fast and professional and cleaned up after himself. Even though it was a hassle for him because of the broken toilet, he was pleasant and wanted me to be pleased.  I will definitely call them again when I have any plumbing needs.

"I needed to repair the sewer/water line under my house. I contacted several plumbers, but felt most comfortable with Alb’s Brothers Plumbing. Francisco contacted me and provided a free inspection. He explained the problem thoroughly and what needed to be done to complete the job. He worked with my budget and was very understanding. Francisco was helpful, courteous and went the extra mile to complete the job. He repaired the pipe while it was raining and I’m sure past his working hours. I had a pleasant experience with Francisco and Alb’s Brothers Plumbing. I would recommend this company for all your plumbing needs!"

"Edgar & his crew did an excellent job! Made my master bath handicap accessible for my sweetie pie using a wheelchair. Took out door jam, door and added safety handrails. Changed vanity to have two sinks. Nice cabinet work too! They also added a sliding glass door and a cement ramp out my back bedroom access to pool. Very nice work! I will be using Edgar again for other projects! Very happy customer!"

"Installation was great. The service guys were excellent. The salesperson left out a few important details such as the discounts we were able to eventually get and the communication between the service guys and the salesperson was lacking."

"They did a great job! It went faster than I expected. I asked one of the guys if he had time, would he check a leak under my kitchen sink. He was very thorough. It turns out that we had a bolt still attached underneath the sink from a previous water filter installation. We needed a different type of bolt and he switched the bolts for free! He even gave me some much needed advice to help prevent further leaks from the faucet area. I really appreciated the extra mile! I am very pleased with Lone Star Water Services and would gladly recommend them to others."

"The price was fair and they were able to start almost immediately. Asked the installer multiple times to cover his work area as to not scratch our new wood floors. Of course, he scratched the floors in multiple places. Attempted to contact the owner and he was non responsive on the issue. The unit was installed in September, come October and need to turn the heat on for the first time and there was loud clanging and metal noises. Called to have someone from this company service the unit on Friday afternoon and was told that “it isn’t that cold that it would be Monday before we could look at it” (it was 40 degrees and this is a BRAND NEW unit). Brought up that had we went with a larger company they would send someone out and they do not work after hours or weekends and was basically told you get what you pay for. I would not use this company again in the future. Will probably regret making this post when we need service again in the future."

"They are always quick and prompt. They are super nice and friendly. They are very trustworthy. We alsp had them do a couple other smaller jobs for us. We always have the same plumber come out and we’e gotten to know them so well that they feel like family. They did a great job and they leave everything clean and do an immaculate. We’ve been using them for almost decade. They guarantee all their work and gave us a lifetime warranty on this repair and also a gas repair they did too. I feel like this is a big selling point because the lifetime warranty is transferrable to the next owners. They are very reasonably priced and don’t nickel and dime you."

"Very pleased with this first-time experience with Mark Masters General Contractors. The plumber, Seth Funkhouser, was prompt, courteous, listened patiently, discussed the possible problems, and explained the solution step-by-step. The sink/disposal and dishwasher are all performing perfectly. High confidence in this vendor. Now planning to consult with them about additional remodeling projects."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Porcelain and enamel sinks have very similar appearances, but they aren’t the same. Porcelain is a ceramic made from natural clay, while enamel is a strong powder that’s glazed over a metal sink. Use a magnet to determine whether you have an enamel or porcelain sink. If a strong magnet sticks to the sink, it’s likely enamel. If it doesn’t, you probably have a porcelain sink. You can also use the model number on the sink (often found on the underside of the bowl) or information from the manufacturer to determine the material.

Silicone caulk—despite having some adhesive properties—is not the primary thing that holds your sink in place. Rather, it seals the gaps around the sink to prevent water from leaking and causing issues with mold and corrosion. Most sinks are secured by clips, though some sinks are secured with two-part epoxy or brackets.

Today’s standard sink stopper size is 1.5 inches. However, you can still find different sizes if your house uses an older sink stopper. Other sizes you can find in most hardware stores include one inch, 1-1/4 inch, 1-3/8 inch, 1-5/8 inch, 1-7/8 inch, 2 inch, 2-1/4 inch, 2-3/8 inch, and 2.5 inch.

Wall-mounted faucets are installed 6 to 8 inches above the countertop. The height you choose is very significant because the wrong choice will lead to a faucet that splashes water everywhere. Your installer should have a good recommendation based on your sink type, size, and shape. A good installer will ensure the sink is comfortable and splash-free.

When installing an undermount kitchen sink in a granite countertop, use 100% silicone to secure the basin. If you’re worried your sink is too heavy, speak with a countertop professional about how to adhere the sink to the countertop without worrying about issues down the road. Sagging undermount sinks can be a common plumbing problem if they’re not properly adhered, so always make sure you’re using a high-quality material.
