"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"The Sometimes Spouse representative was very professional, arrived 10 minutes early. The job was a bit challenging but he managed to fix the problem. The side wall of the jacuzzi was removed and replaced very neatly. I would not hesitate to use this provider in the future or recommend them to others.

"Imagine how disgusting it feels to know rats have taken up residence in your home.
We suspected we had something going on in the attic and I had my wife find an exterminator. As luck would have it it it took her hours to find someone to come right away. The next day Wednesday one of Critter Control inspectors came to our home and made a very thorough inspection. They found many traces of rats-living in the attic and damage by chewing holes in the siding to get in. Rats can get in a hole the size of a quarter. We had no idea how bad it was. We think the next door neighbor harbors a nest under his shed and we were the rats next convenient target.

You don't mess around when it's this bad. That Friday 2 trucks pulling trailers showed up.Our foreman Kelly couldn't have been more professional. All the men piled out of truck and immediately went to work. One is on the roof repairing damage in the siding-another sealing entry holes-2 others are laying plastic down where they will be walking to get to the attic. The guys are prepared and have everything with them they need. With a powerful vacuum the size of a firehouse they suck up everything in the attic-insulation and anything that moves. They they sprayed to decontaminate what might be left. It looked like a Haz Mat scene. They inspected for any electrical wire damage and replaced some duct work that had been gotten into. They they brought in new insulation-more than what I had before. And they left a few traps behind just in case one had been hiding.

We had followup from the company about 2 weeks later from their Quality Control-Len H. He put my wife at ease with his understanding how traumatic this had all been. He found that rats are still trying to get in and had caused some more damage. Len said they would be back to repair and do some more preventive repairs to be sure the rats stay gone.

This whole event started on a Wednesday with an inspection.  Friday morning they were here and in only a few hours later had us cleaned up and put back together. Thank you Critter Control for the prompt response. We feel much safer now.
Did I mention they have a lifetime guarantee?
Mine or the rats?"

Siding questions, answered by experts

Yes, vertical and horizontal siding both come in the same materials, including wood, vinyl, aluminum, and engineered wood. The material you choose can significantly affect your siding’s overall price, lifespan, insulation properties, and maintenance costs.

Stucco is considered a type of cladding because it includes a built-in ventilation layer, a weatherproof membrane beneath that, and, often, a layer of insulation to improve building efficiency. The multiple layers of stucco—the scratch coat, the brown coat, and the finish coat—also create a more complex building membrane, so it’s more accurate to call it cladding. However, homeowners and contractors alike refer to stucco as siding.

Yes, mixing siding types will affect your home value, and in most cases, it will improve curb appeal and add to the value of your home. This is especially true if you get the benefit of the high-end appearance of brick or stone siding but save on siding costs by covering most of the exterior with more affordable vinyl or fiber cement.

Regularly wash with mild detergent, inspect for rust, and repaint as needed to maintain its appearance.

You should plan to stain or refinish your home's cedar siding every three to seven years to maintain its appearance and provide maximum protection, though some estimates suggest a range of four to six years. The exact frequency depends on several factors, including your local climate, exposure to severe weather like direct sunlight, rain, and wind, the quality of the initial stain application, the type of stain used, and the overall condition and quality of the wood.

For homes in harsh climates with high humidity and significant sun exposure, you should plan on staining as often as every three years, while those in milder locations may only need to do so every seven years. For the longest-lasting protection in particularly harsh climates, consider using an opaque stain.

If you are looking for a lower-maintenance alternative, you might consider vinyl or aluminum siding. While the initial installation cost can be higher, they do not require as much upkeep and can offer more value over time, especially in areas with excessive rainfall or high humidity.
