"Butch called back right away. Came out in a timely fashion. Got one unit working. Then he said the main board was malfunctioning on the downstairs unit and would have to be replaced. It would cost 1200 or 1300. But if we spent a little extra on a service contract he would wave the trip fee and it would be 1100 something. Okay. We did that. It was too late for him to get the board that day so he came out the next day to install the board. But the unit still didn't come on. He said the thermostat was bad and it would we 300 to 500 to replace the thermostat depending on what we wanted. My husband told him we could do that ourselves. Just by pass it and get the unit working. Then he came down and said that the blower motor was out and it would be 1800 to replace the blower motor or 2400 to just replace the whole unit and then we'd be under warranty again. I told them I wanted a second opinion before we did that. I called Ed & Sons they came out, confirmed that we did need a new thermostat. And said they could rebuild the blower motor for around 100$. I ordered two new thermostats for 300 for both of them and my husband installed the thermostats. The work they did was fine. But I felt like they were more of the school of let's just replace parts until it works or we can sell them a new unit. Rather than what can we fix."

They worked very hard in the hot sun and installed very patiently. Very cooperative, cleared all the questions we have. We had an issue with the drainage of the purifier as it occupied our washer and dryer which prevented our washing machine installation and Costco denied the installation. But upon contacting prostar Doug or JD came and resolved the issue in no time. He installed the washer and dryer as well. Really appreciate the team and their services.."

"My car displayed an engine warning type message and the temperature gauge stopped working. I called and spoke with Duke, then took my car to his shop right away. Even though it's a short work week, he was able to get a technician to look at my car and fix the issue on the same day. While no parts were needed, his staff had to take time to check for stored codes, troubleshoot the issue, clean/lubricate parts and put them back on. They were able to get it fixed without having to order parts and the temperature gauge is now working again.
An incredibly nice businessman, Duke told me that it didn't take long and didn't require acquiring any parts, so he didn't charge me for the service. In this day and time I was amazed to hear that......and very appreciative. His shop most definitely has my business from now on - oil changes, preventive maintenance, repairs...... anything! "okay, but not great. For the wiring, he just changed the bulbs, which I provided. Was unable to fix the wall outlet. In the process, he broke the wall switch. Had to replace it with a different switch, which I don't like as well. I didn't realize until after he left that he had installed it backwards. I can live with it, but it's inconvenient."

"Before the water heater installation, the technician said that in order to meet code requirement the water heater needed a vacuum breaker, which cost $95 above and beyond the $900 coupon price.  I said to him that the coupon price should be for a water heater that met all regulatory requirements instead of charging me extra for the vacuum breaker that's a code requirement.  He said no.  Since I needed the new water heater badly, I asked him to go ahead to install it and I would call his manager to talk about this.  When I called the manager he said he had to talk with the technician when he returned to the office the next morning.  When I called the manager again Monday morning after he had a chance to talk to the technician, he reduced the charge for the vacuum breaker to $30, perhaps the cost of the parts.  However, I still think that the vacuum breaker should be part of the package cost because they are supposed to supply and install a water heater with all parts required by prevailing codes because it's not an optional equipment.  Also, the technician used a pressure regulator, a flexible copper hose, and a power supply cable from my old water heater instead of using brand new ones.  Since the coupon did not list all these details, I couldn't argue about this, but the previous company which installed my last water heater supplied all these brand new, including the 3/4" brass ball valve for free while I had to pay $95 for it now.
