The installation went well. Justin from sales is awesome and took all the inputs and scheduled the installation appropriately. The installation team Doug and JD are excellent. They worked very hard in the hot sun and installed very patiently. Very cooperative, cleared all the questions we have. We had an issue with the drainage of the purifier as it occupied our washer and dryer which prevented our washing machine installation and Costco denied the installation. But upon contacting prostar Doug or JD came and resolved the issue in no time. He installed the washer and dryer as well. Really appreciate the team and their services..

ProStar Water Solutions Inc - This is a scamster company preying on 1st time home owners and customer ignorance. Robert sold us the Puronics water softener system and RO for a exorbitant price due to our lack of knowledge and awareness, and were also guaranteed life time warranty but when we reported issue - we are asked to Pay $600. Service and Maintenance Fraud - ProStar has been charging us $500 for yearly maintenance and service, where as Puronics product seller are recommending service to done only once every 3 years and general pricing for this in Texas including Houston and Austin areas is $200.

"I am sorry for your negative experience. We absolutely recommend doing some shopping in order to find the right price point for you. Puronics (the manufacturer) is who determines the warranties and what is covered, we do not. The cost of the part needed to be repaired or replaced was under warranty, unfortunately shipping costs of said part(s) and labor is not included in the warranty. As far as maintenance goes there are several factors that determine the timeline. Depending on the degree of hardness in your area and usage you may be able to surpass the recommended 12-18 months. We typically notify our customers annually but it is up to your discretion if you would like to move forward with that maintenance or push it back."

I like the water filter they gave me. I can get the water straight from the tap. They gave me a free installation because I am an Angie's List member. All the salt is removed from my water. They told me if I referred anyone to them they would give me $500 credit. My skin feels better and all my food and coffee I make with my water taste better. Installing a salt filter is not as good because you end up loosing 300 gallons of water a month. One time I called to tell them my filter was leaking and they found everything was running and they didn't charge me.

DO NOT EVEN CALL THIS COMPANY TO LOOK AT YOUR WATER! I had noticed that my kitchen water seemed to be very hard even though my shower felt soft. I called the company looking for service for my existing water softener thinking that I must just not have known what I was talking about for the shower since I tested the kitchen myself and it was indeed hard. When the man came out he told me my softener was a "disposable" system and that he wouldn't touch it and he tested my water. The first time he ran the test he counted more drops of the reactant than he actually put in so I had him do it again. The water was indeed hard, although not AS bad as his first test. When asked the approximate cost of my existing system he said they run around $900 but his systems were much better and in the $3-5k range. He kept pushing me to buy a system and I denied saying I could not make a several thousand dollar decision on the spot without my husband. He even asked me to call my husband. Well I trusted his information but opted to not spend thousands and instead looked and saw my "disposable system" was less than $400 (I believe he purposely quoted it high to make the difference between it and his smaller) so I bought that and installed it. The real trouble came when we disconnected the old softener and put it in the car to take to Lowe's for disposal and pick up of the new one. My husband was gone doing that chore while I was in the house and I discovered my kitchen water still worked even though we had turned the water to the softener off and no other water in the house worked. I called a local plumber and discovered that it is very normal to have the kitchen faucet not softened! I then tested the remaining water from my boiler and discovered that it was in fact soft and my old softener had been working just fine. Unfortunately all of this news came too late and we already had installed the new softener and disposed of the old one. The salesperson would have known that it was common for the kitchen to be unsoftened and he tested that water on purpose to show hard water and sell me something I didn't need! I am now out $400 and a lot of pride do to his shady sales tactics. Thank goodness I didn't buy his $4000 system!

"Most often when it is requested we come out and evaluate a water softener there is a trip charge of $129.00. We did not however charge or collect any money for the visit. Though we often do work on and repair other brand water softeners, this is not always the case. Many problems can occur due to the large variance in the quality of the products out there. The Liability falls on us if we try and repair the system and issues come up later down the line. With this in mind, the technician will determine which direction to go after he does his assessment. It is not uncommon to decline the repair and possibly offer another recommendation including replacing the system like we did with you. Customer Service"

We had lived in our new home a few months and knew we needed to have a water softener installed. ?We had met this company at a home show and they took our information. ?Expecting to be overwhelmed by phone calls from all the water softener companies we met at the home show, this company was the only one to make a sales call. ?After doing my preliminary review of all the companies I felt comfortable with scheduling a home demonstration. The salesman they sent to our home was somewhat new but extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. ?Bo?answered all of our questions, and made us feel comfortable with moving forward with the installation. ?We were not able to purchase the system right away and asked Bo to please call us back in 6 months, as we did not want to finance this purchase. ?He took our information, and called us back exactly 6 months later, returned to our home and completed the sale. ?He was also able to schedule the installation for the next business day. The installer showed up to our home exactly as scheduled and performed the installation in a timely and?professional manner. ?Bo also, returned to help with the installation. ?There were no problems with the installation and we were comfortable with operation of the water softener and the reverse osmosis. We purchased the Hydronex water softener?system, and the Micromax 6000 reverse osmosis. ?We have only had the system for a couple of days, but I am extremely happy with this purchase, and the entire ProStar team. ?We are happy to part of the ProStar family and look forward to continuing our business with them.

The service did not work out very well at all. The individual came out and worked on the water softener for an extremely long period of time, which I didn't have a complaint about, but after he was done, the water softener was leaking internally. You could hear the water running. I called him back and I asked him what his recommendation was, and he asked me whether my water was soft, I said yes, so he said he was done. I wasn't asking him to come and fix it for free, I was asking if it was repairable, because he said he got into it and found out one of the ports was blocked, and he peeled off the calcium and showed it to me, but now it is working. I had one that was not working right, and now I have one that is not working at all. I called to find out if he could fix it, and he said that if the water was soft, he was done. I was not happy with that. I am now trying to find someone who can come and look at it and see if it is fixable or if I have to replace it. It wasn't too long after I purchased the big deal that they came out. They didn't charge us anything extra. I thought the price was about right. He worked extremely hard, other than the possible damage that he did. He responded very well, but he didn't want to follow up on it. I will not use him again in the future.

Everything went great.  Just a few details to keep in mind.  There is an extra charge to drill through granite based on the thickness and there is an extra charge to upgrade the faucet.  I would recommend them and use them again despite the extras.  I love my RO system

Patti, was friendly, quick to respond to requests, overall great customer rep for the company...made selecting Pro Star as our provider very easy.  The tech, Robert was friendly, courteous, helpful, conscience and explained in detail what he was going to do before he did it when replacing the RO system.  They didn't as many companies will do try to upsell anything and as any good tech he also viewed our water softener was a very old one (over 17 years old, not even in market any longer) and simply offered a brochure of their systems, highlighting some of the advantages to include their service whenever we might need it.  There was no arm twisting or hard sells involved from either Patti or Robert. 

After review and further discussions, we decided to go with their system, Puronics and added the water softener to the contract.  As I always do, I asked for better pricing and since we were buying both a water softener and RO system...they were more than accommodating, giving us a better deal than I even expected.  A+ in my book.

We have a water system on our place for cleaning and treating our water since we have wells. We have a water clarification system which we bought from them and they come out every year and do maintenance on it. It is more than just a softener, it's a clarification system as well, it crops out solids and everything. They've got a service tech that's really knowledgeable and knows his business. Their maintenance costs and service calls are not inexpensive but they are no different from anybody else. When they came to install the new part, it took about 20 or 30 minutes.
