Small jobs welcome

"Decided to take a chance on this new company to remove kitchen appliances that were taking up space in my garage. This is a veteran owned, second generation enlisted Navy business. The prices were fair and the service prompt. Aaron picked up the items and took them to their donation destination. I would recommend this company to anyone that needs moving or removal services."

"George and his crew did an AMAZING job. I had started the project, but due to an injury I wasn't able to complete it. Lone Star came out the same day (on time) for an estimate and then showed up the next day (on time) and knocked the project out. They also picked up some extra plants on their lunch hour for us. They took our ideas and brought them to life. I've already asked for estimates for some additional work. Highly reccommend this group!!!"

"Juan was quick to respond on removing a hazardous tree. A little frustrated on multiple deposits requested for his equipment rental and subs. I suppose cash flow issues. Declined to relocate rock bricks from curb. Bottom line he got the tree down and hauled away."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

By using PPE, sealing work areas, and following containment procedures.

No. Standard homeowners insurance does not cover any kind of lead remediation, focusing instead on sudden, unpreventable events like fires and theft. Many insurance companies will specifically exclude lead paint removal, since it tends to be an expensive and unavoidable project. The exception is if the lead surface is damaged during a covered event (like a flood) and homeowners insurance pays its replacement.

Professional lead-paint abatement companies use a variety of methods to remove lead-based paint, depending on each particular situation. Some of the most common methods include:

  • Total removal: $8–$17 per square foot

  • Demolition and replacement: $1,000–$15,000 per project

  • Encapsulation: $4 per square foot

  • Enclosure: $10 per square foot

  • Chemical stripping: $10–$17 per square foot

Disposing of old paint, bleach, oil, and fertilizer should be handled by a company that specializes in this kind of waste. Many private junk removal companies do not dispose of these items. Because these materials are hazardous to the environment and dangerous to handle or dispose of improperly, you should confirm with your local municipality about places to take hazardous materials for safe disposal.

Chlorine has a shelf life of between six months and several years, depending on its type and formulation. Liquid chlorine can often lose its effectiveness in just a few weeks. Pool owners can find themselves with overstock that they need to get rid of. The best way to dispose of excess chlorine is to take it to a hazardous waste collection site and let the pros handle it.
