He was very mindful of my property, kept his workspace clean, and his attention to detail really stood out. The quality of his work was top-notch, and everything was handled with care and precision. ".The electrical service in this house dated to 1946. Start the vacuum cleaner and the lights would dim, that kind of thing. George gave me a price I liked and after securing the permit from the City he gave me a date when  the upgrade would take place. I've had George over for work in the past and this time he was every bit as good as he was the first time...maybe better. Everything that could go right, did go right. The work included a new high-rise service entry as well as a new ground rod and a whole bunch of new 20 amp circuit breakers. I'm very pleased.

Ev Charger Installer questions, answered by experts

Local electricians with experience in your area understand the local building codes, which is very important when doing new electrical work. They also have experience with the kind of electrical problems homes in your location may have, and even the components that were used in the original construction, which leads them to make faster and better decisions.

Charging your EV every night isn’t always necessary. Most EVs have sufficient range to cover daily commutes without needing a nightly charge, particularly if you have a Level 2 charger. Charging once every few days or as needed can prolong the battery’s lifespan.

Having a Level 2 charger can increase your home value, especially as electric vehicles become more popular. Homebuyers who have EVs or are interested in getting one will appreciate the convenience of a ready-to-use charging station. The added value can vary based on location and buyer preferences.

Setting up utilities on a vacant property usually takes at least a few months, or between 6 weeks to 16 weeks. This process requires working with the local planning and zoning department, hiring a building contractor or engineer to design the utility layout, securing permits, laying the lines, and connecting the utilities.

Hire an electrician the same way you would an employee. Ask questions and look for a good fit. Streamline the process by using these questions to ask an electrician. It's also common to ask for a quote in writing. Don’t forget to provide all the project details to ensure there are no surprises or opportunities for added fees.
