Customers say: Quality work

"There was a slow start because Mason had to go buy the materials for the job. Then on the second day when he was working late the electricy went out and he could not continue welding. By the 3rd day he and his helper finished and did a get job of cleaning up and removing all the construction debris. Everything looked like they had not even been there. There was no damaged grass or landscaping destroyed in the process. Even the chickens were happy. They did a great job of keeping the gates closed on the 3rd day of construction and no chickens escaped.

"The crew did a great job of cleaning up the yard, removing leaves and debris, trimming shrubs and groundcover, mulching the bedding areas, and installing new grass where needed. They were very professional and performed some extra tasks that I had not expected. The yard looks better than it has in years. I am already planning to hire them for additional work. Very satisfied!"

Small jobs welcome

"Mr. Flores was incredibly prompt & came out to give a free estimate. His quote was fair, and he & his team did a great job cutting & removing a 40-foot tree that was damaged in the mighty winds we've had recently. They cleaned up & did a fabulous job! My neighbors were so impressed that they hired Jose Flores Landscaping & Concrete to trim their trees & do concrete work for them as well. Thank you, Mr. Flores & team! "We hired K6 to fix a road that had been washed out. K6 placed culverts under the road to divert the rain water and removed an old cattle guard. New material was brought in, pot holes were filled, road was smoothed over. Not only did K6 do a wonderful job of fixing the road, we were contacted about a week later to check in to see how everything held up after recent storms and to make sure we were still happy. K6 was professional, got the job done, and didn’t break the bank. Will definitely use them again for future projects."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

If you live in an area with heavy rain or you like the idea of an extra layer of cushion under your feet, you may want to consider adding additional layers under your grass. There are pads that are purely for comfort and ones that can help accelerate drainage for those heavy rains.

A window flower box should be deep enough that there’s room for a wide selection of plants and the required amount of soil and gravel. Standard flower boxes are 8 inches deep and 8 inches from front to back. Larger is better to increase the variety of plants in the box, but you could run into stability issues as it increases in weight.

The best landscape edging tool depends on you and your needs. For homeowners who are looking for a budget-friendly edging material, plastic might be the best option for them. However, homeowners who want a low-maintenance option might opt for concrete or brick. Since there are loads of gardening edging ideas, decide what factors (maintenance, style, or budget) are most important to you to help you narrow your choices.

Monkey grass isn’t too picky when it comes to light conditions: It needs sun but prefers partial shade. While it can tolerate full sun, it thrives in environments with partial shade (around four to six hours of sunlight per day). The black mondo grass variety is the most tolerant of heat from direct sunlight.

While both fall and spring are suitable times of the year for planting trees, fall is typically the better option. Soil stays warm long enough to allow tree roots to establish in fall before they go dormant, while spring might give way to intense summer heat before spring-planted trees have time to grow strong roots.
