"I paid $32,062.46 upfront. Due to non-performance of duties and/or responsibilities and damages to the property, it was mutually agreed to terminate the contract with Elizabeth Meisel on 2/28/25. Zack did not follow the permitted stamped architect plans and was provided feedback. The ceiling framing was off by 4' and the kitchen framing off by appx 9". Tell was made aware and still could not follow the plans for the kitchen. The original parquet in the large closet was demolished. It is estimated $800 for materials and labor. I made numerous calls, some not returned. Many meetings. Elizabeth Meisel assured me I would not be charged for work not completed. I sent a demand letter, no response. She is not returning my calls, now. I am now forced to pay the fees associated with ownership of the property and rent as I sold property to purchase this one. I am 70 years old and am forced to go back to work full time to cover housing expenses. Now I also have attorney’s fees."

My friends encouraged me to start my own business so that I could personally do the work for them. It was a big step, but with their support and the support of my family it seemed like the thing to do. It was a tough start but after 14 years we are still at it, and business gets better every year. We are general contractors now and do full kitchen and bath remodels as well as hardwood and tile flooring, additions, flood remediation, drywall repair, fencing and everything in between. "DE Flooring has been our go to general contractor for 3 separate projects in the past 15 years. 1st project was to replace all the kitchen countertops/bars & niches’ ledges with a beautiful veined high end granite. 2nd was a shower enlargement and installation gorgeous slab marble to the shower, separate tub surround and double vanity. The scope of the work also included to close up a wall and add an arched built in to our master bedroom. All the work was superior quality, it became even more apparent when after an unpreventable illness this awesome shower had to be replace to accommodate a zero entrance ledge and a wheelchair entry, hence another complete remodel. In the process of this 3rd project remodel it was easy to see behind all the walls and 10 years later not a drop of water had leaked or penetrated the original install. It was so tight it was difficult to take it down. I am confident this second remodel of the bathroom will be just as well done as the first. We also chose to replace the master suite carpeting which gives quite an uplift to the rooms. The owner comes by and double checks on the progress daily, instructs his crews and speaks to us. He never has dismissed our inquiries no matter what adversity could be lurking in his personal life. His subs are all professional, friendly and extremely respectful at all times. This is also a reflection of the leadership. You cannot go wrong by engaging this company to do your construction. If a mistake happens it will be rectified immediately with no argument as well. "On Tuesday, April 16th he tore out the tile and my double sink. He collected from me $1750 and left at about noon saying he would return. He did not return until Friday afternoon. He hastily installed the countertop and said he was finished. In addition to having poorly installing the countertop, the sink was not one made to be used in a kitchen and had only one hole in the top for the faucets. I offered to pay for a decent sink although he was to replace the one I had He said he was not a plumber and was not going to connect any sink. I pointed out the other problems and asked him to fix them. He argued for awhile demanding payment.. I told him I would pay him when he corrected the problems. He walked out and then sat outside of my house for almost an hour. I called him to try and resolve the issues. I even offered to pay if he provided a helper. He refused to do so unless I paid him for the complete job. He left and returned with the police. He said I had cheated him and then accused my husband of having threaten him with a knife and he was afraid of him. My husband is 73yrs old, has Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and a defibrillator. He never even suggested anything. He and his worker insisted that happened and my husband had to spend a night in jail. He must appear in court on April 26th, so we must retain an attorney."
