HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. This is and should be rated a 5 STAR COMPANY ALL DAY LONG. I have been using Dempsey since 2004 to do electrical work around my house. Recently I had them install LED lights in my den, LED panel in my laundry room and a whole home surge protector. Chris Cloyd did a great job, and the results were impressive! This company is reliable, competent and very aggressive on pricing. Richard Dempsey is to be congratulated on running a tight ship! I wouldn't use anyone else. As I said before, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Dempsey Electric, particularly Brett (our office contact) and Jack (our master electrician), went above and beyond with this project. Every piece of wire in the house and garage is new and done to meet or exceed electrical code, to the point where the city inspector said "you went above and beyond." The work took about 3.5 weeks to complete, while the house was empty. Throughout the process, they communicated frequently with us about how we wanted things done, issues they were finding, and what they were up to in the house. Seeing some of the wiring "surprises" left by the previous owner, we are very happy to have had the rewire done, and seeing the extremely high quality of Jack's work from start to finish convinced us we picked the right provider. During the project, the only scope creep / cost additions were things my wife and I decided to add (can lights, exterior accent lights, surge protector), and while the work took a little longer than originally estimated, I did not have an issue with it given the challenges encountered once the walls were opened up and the true mayhem of 30 years of amateur electrical work was unveiled.
After completion, everything in the house works as it should.
Overall, we are highly satisfied with Dempsey Electric and would recommend them for similar projects. Their cost is somewhat higher than other big companies, but in the end I do not believe the work could have been completed properly and with the level of customization requested for any less than we paid. Their work was of very high value to us and we would not hesitate to hire them again if we had to start over.

This time he gave me an invoice of over $280 but told me not to pay it until he returned. After he did not show up for over a week and a half, I called and spoke to his supervisor and his supervisor said he would get him out the next day.... another week went by.
Now we are on our third week, I have contested the first $181 charge to my Discover Card and I have another company out here who said they will fix it or I will not pay.

I had a rental property that needed a variety of electrical work performed. Chris, the Dempsey craftsman, arrived on time and ready to work. Chris was professional, courteous, and helpful providing guidance on the work to be done. When changing the light fixture in the entry way Chris came across a hornet's nest. Instead of letting the homeowner (me) spray the nest Chris said he would be happy to do it.
Chris was patient in spite of the fact I did not have all the materials he needed to do the work. I would welcome Chris to do any of my future electrical work.

Typically, if you call in the morning they will come that afternoon. If you call in the afternoon, typically they will come the following day. I have been doing business with them for about eight years. They always contact me before they head my way. They send qualified people. They typically send over a journey man. I have used them twice this year.

Jack arrived and went right to work and identified the problem. He also told me calculate the amps I have on a circuit to insure that I am not overloading them. I would definitely use Dempsey Electric again if I have the need for an electrician.

Jack was extremely professional, although I'm sure he wanted to laugh at me for hiring the company that installed the wiring that was in place on my unfinished patio. He was patient in explaining all the things wrong with the current work, what was illegal, etc., and he called the office to schedule an estimate to have them completely redo the entire job. I am waiting on that estimate now. When he called into the office to get details on what I should do to move forward with the proper permits for the job, Wes even called the city permitting office for me to explain the situation.
Overall, I couldn't be happier, and I look forward to working with them again.
Update - Work completed
Jack installed conduit and several outlets on the patio, along with a new circuit for my deep freeze. (Hope I got the terms correct.) He did a beautiful job, and I'm excited to see how everything works once I get the patio completed.

The electrician arrived on time and was very pleasant. He was surprised that he was supposed to bring a cover for the hole in the ceiling where one ceiling fan was removed and a light fixture was being hung. This was discussed on the phone at the time that I scheduled the work to be done and was part of the pricing. I bought the big deal and was told the first hour was where the discount was covered and the regular price kicked in after that...but the job should not take more than three hours tops. The electrician arrived some time between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm and did not leave until after 8:00 pm. I was asked to go to the hardware store and try to buy a cover...which I did and they did not have a cover available. So the job cost at least $200 more than was anticipated and I was left with a hole in the ceiling.

"We were very suprised to see this review. We take great pride in leaving every customer satisfied when we are complete with each job. We never heard there was any issue with any work we completed for this customer. I don't know what "big deal" that is being referred to because the only one we offer is a 15% discount off of the total work completed. I checked with Angie's List and no other deals show to be postedunder Dempsey Electric, so I'm not sure where the confusion on that matter comes from. We did give her a 15% discount. We would never tell a customer over the phone exactly how long a job is going to last. We will however try to give a ballpark on how long we think it might take, but this is based on the information given to us by the customer. Every job from house to house is different and in our business you always have to assume that. We took down -2- ceiling fans in different rooms as well -2- fixtures in other rooms of the house. We replaced the fixtures and fans with all brand new fixtures. One of the new fixtures was relocated to a different location, which required installing a new support box and working in the attic. Also, until we arrived we were unaware that -2- of the fixtures were oversized and needed bracing support. I'm not sure where the three hours comes from, maybe the same company with the other "big deal" offer, mentioned that. We did show up with no cover for the relocated fixture. We offered to pick one up or to let the owner get one. We didn't know the round box in the ceiling was still uncovered. Dempsey Electric tries to be as fair and honest with every customer as we can. We have an open line of communication if there are any problems on any job."
