"Andrew was very knowledgeable and professional. Understood the requirements and fixed the necessary elements for 1/4th cost estimated by another company, gave pro-tips on increasing efficiency and did not even over sell anything. Would hire him again for future lawn and sprinkler upgrades.,"

"I would not recommend this company. Surprising unprofessionalism when they called me. In the morning I had opened a new project for Sprinkler irrigation of the front of my home's lawn and flowerbeds with flexible timing for hire. By noon, my landscaper, who manages my lawn, had re-done my flowerbeds and they were cleared out so I no longer had plants in a large portion of my house line. Mind you, this change was done in *just* a few hours. This contractor called for an estimate and I explained that I am no longer immediately hiring because I need to plant the beds again and I was getting landscaping designers to do this work. Well he then became agitated and raised his voice, he was very upset that HomeAdvisor charged him $59 dollars to call me. The other irrigation companies that called were understanding and willing to call back later or ask for a follow-up within a few weeks/months. No, this man was just straight up upset. I understand it's tough but how much you pay per "lead" does not fall upon me. I called HomeAdvisor back about this project & contractor."

"The technicians that came to my home were looking for a very small leak, that was causing my sprinkler box to fill up with water, when the sprinkler system was turned on. Looking for this small leak, was like looking for a needle in a hay stack, but the technicians found it, and repaired it. The 2 technicians that came to my home, could not have been nicer. I am very happy with the service I received from this company, and would definately recommend them to friends, and neighbors. I have found a permanent company, when it comes to any sprinkler system problems, I may have in the future. Thank you to Angi, for recommending them!"

"Overall, great company to work with. Used HomeAdvisor to find contractors to bid on an irrigation system install, in which Jim Wood promptly reached out upon receiving the inquiry. While very prompt and courteous in his responses, I decided to hire this company due to the established reputation and competitive quote that was received. After giving Jim the green light to proceed with the job, his foreman, Mike, reached out to me to explain the specific details of the job and on the day of installation he again walked me through everything that we discussed on the phone. I'd recommend this company to anybody that's in the market for irrigation needs."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Fine fescue grass can germinate within 12 to 22 days. Of course, factors such as soil and climate can determine how long it will take for your no-mow grass to sprout. New grass seed needs adequate sunshine, oxygen, moisture, and healthy soil for successful germination. The best time to plant fescue grass is early spring or early fall.

No, it's not a good idea to put grass seed directly on top of dead grass. For successful germination and growth, grass seed needs good soil contact. To prepare the area, start by removing the dead grass using a shovel or a sod cutter. Then, loosen the soil, add soil amendments if necessary, and spread the grass seed evenly. This allows the seed to come into direct contact with the soil, promoting better germination and establishing a healthier lawn.

Technically, yes, at least some of the grass seed you throw on the ground will germinate. If the area doesn’t have good drainage, rain or overwatering can move seeds before they have germinated, leaving your patches still patchy. What does grow won’t have strong roots if there isn’t proper aeration.

Seeding can be DIY, requiring patience and knowledge of proper preparation and care, to ensure successful lawn establishment.

The amount of time it takes for grass to germinate varies depending on the grass species. Even after germination, it’s going to take a while to see grass blades start emerging from soil. Some grasses germinate quickly and emerge after several days of growth (and healthy watering). Others may take up to three weeks to show themselves. Cool-season grasses tend to take the longest to germinate at one month.
