"The crew was a bit sloppy when Joe wasn't around, but he had them return to re-do a few places and clean off areas where the concrete/mortar should not have been placed. There wasn't anything than couldn't be fixed."

"I highly recommend Ryan and his crew. He has seven guys that work directly under him, and subcontracts the best crews for specific projects. He comes from a pool builders background and has tons of experience. I couldnâ  t be happier with my renovation. I upgraded my pool equipment to the newest technology, upgraded pebble interior and LED lights. My neighbor had Ryan put in an outdoor kitchen with the big green egg, a pergola and rope lights. Give his 5-star work a shot for yourself!"

"Our landscape looks fabulous! We are so pleased with the design, workmanship and finished product of our landscape. The meticulous attention to detail by Jeff is so impressive and much appreciated. We are very satisfied with the results and anyone who visits our home marvels at the new look. Throughout the extensive project, Jeff was very good at communicating and teaching. Our project required a multitude of landscaping services and skills which included: An integrated landscape design and layout plan, demolition of the old, drainage and irrigation installation, stonework, plant/bush/tree installations, mulch, sod and lighting. We also had many repairs done to our existing sprinkler systems and drain lines. We couldn't be happier with our beautiful final product and highly recommend Jeff/Metro-Green Landscapes."

Fountains questions, answered by experts

A koi pond should be at least 5 feet deep to keep the fish healthy and ensure they don’t freeze in winter. Koi fish are also known for growing large, so the more room you have, the better. A larger koi pond size will allow the fish to grow bigger than a smaller one will, and the more fish you have, the bigger the pond you’ll need. Learn how to build a pond in your backyard to ensure it remains functional and aesthetically pleasing for a long time.

In addition to length and width, pond liners also come in various thickness levels. Thickness is measured in mils, a unit of measurement equal to one-thousandth of an inch, with most pond liners ranging from 15 to 60 mils in thickness. The smaller the number, the thinner (and weaker) the liner. To prevent rips and tears, it’s best to choose a pond liner that’s at least 30 mils thick.

One of the most important parts of building a pond is digging the right depth. Your pond needs to be at least one to two feet deep. The specifics of the depth will depend on factors such as the placement of the pond and whether you plan on having fish. If you have fish in your pond, it will need to be at least two feet deep.

Though there are a lot of factors that go into caring for a koi pond, the most important maintenance you can do is frequent water checks using a koi pond test strip that checks the water for dangerous conditions.  In addition to regular pond maintenance costs, you’ll also need to winterize your koi pond if you live in a colder area.

Yes, it’s possible to DIY a plunge pool and shave labor costs off of the project total. If you’re considering a DIY build, keep in mind that you will be responsible for pool installation and landscaping (which may require excavation). This type of DIY project is best left to particularly handy homeowners who have prior pool installation experience.
