"Had a new HVAC unit installed and they did a great job! George and his crew were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They arrived on time and cleaned up after themselves. The cost was reasonable. "Jim is local.  It went great. Jim Ferrell is a professional of the highest caliber. Responded quickly, took care of my problems, and advised me as to better means of protection than I had. He came back a second time to uninstall software that I purchased that did not provide adequate protections and installed free software that would do the job.  He did the work through remote connection, but is available on site if necessary.
For those people needing help on getting red of malware, viruses , etc. on your computer,  Jim is local, better than all thse remote out of state location providers, is a mature, highly trained professional in this area.
If you go to local computer stores you get very young people that can do a basic job, but are no where near the professional level of Jim.
I highly recommend Jim to anyone that needs these type services.

"Guy that came out said that it was an issue of the boiler not having enough water. He turned the valve to force water to it and and ended making a mess in my basement floor of black gunk water that I had to clean up. Idk if that was necessarily the issue, he said that’s all it was and nothing else needs to be done. He didn’t provide any type of explanation as to why it wasn’t getting enough water when turned on as this is something that should be self regulated, not something I should have to monitor anytime I turn my heat on. I won’t even necessarily know if this is the case and it’s fixed until fall rolls around again and we need heat, as it is now warming up. I hope that he was correct but quite pessimistic, and felt that a more thorough check should of been done."

I again had lost service from an AC unit that was probably installed before I purchased my property. "First day of my vacation and there was no heat!  I didn't tell them it was my birthday, and so far it was miserable.  But I called and asked if someone could come out and find out what was wrong with my HVAC system.  I called the company that installed it, and they wanted an exorbitant up front price.  Hood's only wanted a fair, nominal fee to diagnose the problem, which I was so thankful for.  I live in Oak Ridge and was starting to think nobody would come.  They sent Chris out the same day, and without complaint he stayed as long as it takes to figure out everything he would need to do to get us up and running.  I have an older system and I expected a sales pitch.  Didn't get one.  I got straight up workmanship.  Chris was honest and knew what he was doing.
I told them I could give them the money to fix the unit on Friday.  So Friday, Chris came back out, with the new part I was missing (blower motor) and took care of the job.  
He didn't do anything that might make the visit more expensive.  He did everything he could to be considerate of the expense, and he was extremely polite the entire time.  When he was done, I spoke to Mary on the phone who always sounds like she's so very happy.
I was impressed by their professionalism.  They went above and beyond what is required in their work and I will never consider using anyone else until I've asked Hood's for other jobs I will have around my property.

"There was no blockage, but found out that the original install of the vent system hand too many bends and this caused the sensor to go off.  Had the original installer back and corrected the problem.

"These guys did a phenomenal job. They built a 36’x64’ barn with 16’ side walls for my wife, son, and I. They did everything from finishing up some grade work for the foundation, framed the whole structure, installed two huge custom windows for me, put my building wrap on, sided and roofed the whole building for a very fair price. After a tough winter of getting behind on construction, I decided to hire them back to pour my concrete cylinders, and frame my entire subfloor throughout the building. These guys did an amazing job, and get the job knocked out, all while doing it spot on to the blueprints. No corner cutting, or short cuts were made throughout the building. They are currently building a second barn on the property that is twice the size of mine for my parents, and just like mine they are doing a great job. Both of these fellas are very friendly, very professional, and punctual as well. I highly recommend hiring these guys, and will most likely have them back to do some work again for me in the future."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
