"

It was a pleasant experience dealing with Aqua Clear Water Systems (David) right from the start. They came out to our residence the same day as we contacted them. Within 2 hours he was there doing a water test on my old system that was leaking water on the floor and a constant flow into the septic system. After getting the test results on the current water system we made the decision to go ahead and replace the entire system with a better unit.

We had been carrying 15 gallons of water every 5 days or so for years for drinking as the well water in our area is not good. The system we have now works fantastic, we are now able to drink the water from the second faucet. The guys that came out to do the install (Zack and Jeff) were very professional, explained what all they were going to do and worked as a team to get the job done within the time they said it would be finished. I was very happy with how the install went, Zack explained how the system worked and how to operate/maintain the system.

I would recommend Aqua Clear Water System to anyone looking to have a top of the line system at a reasonable price.

This is an example of what a whole-home water filtration system might look like in your garage.
This is another example of a whole-home water filtration system that is used for a smaller home with less water usage.

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

Your septic tank naturally contains the good bacteria it needs, so you typically don't have to add more as the system produces them on its own. However, if you wish to replenish the bacteria, you can use natural methods. For example, you can add three rotten tomatoes to your garbage disposal or flush 1/4 ounce of active yeast down the toilet every three months. While store-bought septic enzymes and chemicals are available, many additives are unnecessary and may even harm your system. The most effective way to maintain a healthy bacterial balance is to avoid using chemical drain cleaners, which can kill the beneficial bacteria in your tank.

Saving money on property taxes and having direct control over your waste system are both pros when buying a house with a septic tank. However, it’s easier on the house and the yard if a home can be hooked up to a municipal system, which is why septic tanks are best for homes where that isn’t an option. Expensive repairs, potential odor issues, and regular maintenance are all cons of septic systems.

The disadvantages of having a well include more maintenance, like annual testing and inspections, and high up-front costs to drill a well. Well water is also vulnerable to contamination, which is why keeping up with testing is important if you own a well. When it comes to well water versus city water, well water does offer more independence and is a reliable water source.

A septic system can fail for various reasons, and most commonly, excessive water use or sudden surges in wastewater can overwhelm the system's capacity. Neglecting regular maintenance, like tank pumping and inspections, can also lead to clogs, leaks, and eventual breakdowns. Other issues that lead to failure include age-related wear and tear, root infiltration, improper disposal of non-biodegradable materials or chemicals into the system, unsuitable soil conditions, physical damage, and even environmental factors like flooding or soil erosion.

When a septic tank is full, it needs to be professionally pumped. The average cost of a one-time septic tank pump is about $400, or $0.30 per gallon. If your septic tank is full, you may notice that you have issues flushing your toilet, pipes are draining very slowly, or you have a sewage smell lingering in your home or yard.
