"My home was built in 2000 so initial evidence of asbestos discovered in my crawlspace was thought to be in error. I called AAA Remediation and they came out to take samples for the lab. Asbestos was confirmed and I had them remove. It appears when my home was being constructed they needed ~ 8 shims regarding the piers - apparently one of the subcontractors used pieces of shutters from an old home in his pickup bed. The builder was not aware of this and as advised me reimbursement would be received. I mention this as even new homes can contain hazardous material not intended by the builder and missed during inspections. AAA did a great job with remediation and I would recommend."

"If you want to hire an honest company that has their customer as first priority this is the company to hire. I had three different companies come out and AFS gave me an HONEST appraisal with different options to choose from and did not try to sell me something I didnâ t need! They did excellent work and found ways to save me money! Highly recommend!"

"We had an attached screened-in porch that was sinking.Acculevel came in and detailed every aspect of the repair project and then followed thru to the most minuet detail. Excellent work and very detail oriented. Friendly and cooperative service team that completed the work. This seemed like what was going to be a complicated job, using augered jacks, concrete removal, and replacing trex floor. ...In a nutshell, they made what seemed hard..very manageableand 100% solved.Excellent service, excellant price......Terry M."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

While most house creaking is expected to some extent and under normal conditions, it's not a good idea to ignore new noises. If other problems accompany the creakiness, like cement cracks, wobbly or loose stair components, or moving trimwork, it's time to look into the potential for foundation trouble or other structural problems.

Beyond looking for visible signs of mold in a home, you can tell if your house has mold by undertaking testing. You can hire a local mold testing company to run the test for you, giving you a sure answer. Professional testing is often the best way to determine whether you have mold, as some types of mold may grow in places where you can’t easily see them, such as behind walls.

Home inspections can reveal many different issues that could end up costing buyers thousands of dollars or more post-closing to rectify, so what a buyer is willing to pay for a home largely depends on the findings of the home inspection. Major issues like foundation damage or structural problems could significantly bring down the selling price. A “clean” home inspection that reveals no issues may make the home more enticing to buyers, potentially raising the selling price.

While the air inside your home should have some moisture—the ideal humidity level is between 30% and 50%—too much moisture can lead to issues. Some ways to tell if there’s too much moisture in your home include condensation inside your windows, mildew growth in the bathroom or mold on surfaces, peeling paint, or an uptick in allergy symptoms.

Homes should be checked for mold annually, especially if you live in an area with high humidity or frequent rainfall. Inspections are crucial following flooding, roof leaks, or plumbing issues. More frequent checks are necessary if your home has a history of mold problems or water damage. Regular inspections help detect mold early, preventing costly remediation and minimizing health risks, especially in moisture-prone areas such as basements and bathrooms.
