"The contractor that was supposed to fix my fence ghosted me after promising to finish the job for two weeks. I contacted Ram Fence Company, and they came out the same day to measure and give me a quote. I was happy with the quote, and they came out the following day to complete the job. So far, I am very satisfied with my fence and there are no obvious problems with it."

"On time for Thursday appointment. Explained what needed to be done to repair and replace as needed in order to accomplish a plan that worked for me. Work began Friday morning, on time. My fence was damaged previously by tornado damage, trees crushed fence to the ground in some areas and entire area was grown up with shrubs ,weeds , trees , and damaged top rails caused by my horse reaching over the fence . They removed damaged fencing and taller fence installed to keep my horse from pushing fence down. They repaired my large gates and replaced some top rails on fence around my home. They worked with me by making repairs when possible. They also cleared some brush from around my fence and kept me informed on everything they did. Knowledgeable, friendly, and great work. Fair price."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

After finishing a fencing project in Springfield, keep copies of your building permit, property survey, and any HOA approvals. Save your detailed contract, warranty paperwork, and before-and-after photos of the fence installation. Maintenance records, such as staining or fence repair logs, help with long-term care. Update your homeowner’s insurance and property records, as a new fence can impact your home’s value and coverage.

Helpful?

In Springfield, watch for leaning or unstable fence posts, sagging gates that won’t latch, and panels that have shifted due to shifting clay soil or freeze-thaw cycles. Signs like rotting wood, rusted hardware, missing fasteners, or visible gaps under the fence are common after severe storms. If your fence encroaches on a neighbor’s property or exceeds local height limits, fence repair or replacement is often necessary.

Helpful?

The success of fencing in Springfield depends on using durable materials like cedar or pressure-treated wood to resist humidity and pests. Proper post depth and concrete setting are crucial due to clay soils and freeze-thaw cycles. Weather-resistant designs, UV protection, and regular fence repair after storms help extend lifespan. Routine inspections and prompt maintenance ensure your fence remains secure and attractive in Springfield’s climate.

Helpful?

In Springfield, contractors balance function and style by selecting materials and fence designs that fit neighborhood character and withstand local weather. For example, privacy fencing is popular in newer developments, while traditional wood picket styles suit historic areas. Homeowners often work within HOA guidelines, prioritize security, and choose colors that blend with the landscape, ensuring the fence complements both property layout and curb appeal.

Helpful?

Professionals in Springfield first ensure fences meet city codes and are safely clear of underground utilities. Next, they address soil stability and drainage to prevent future shifting, especially important with the area’s clay-heavy soil. They also focus on wind resistance and weatherproofing, then confirm property boundaries and coordinate with neighbors to avoid disputes, ensuring both privacy fencing and security needs are met.
