Emergency services offered

"My first time using Angi and I am very pleased with the outcome! I needed serious leaf removal and a general yard cleanup. I heard back from "JNT LANDSCAPING" almost immediately. They offered to come by and provide a free estimate. After looking at all the great customer reviews JNT LANDSCAPING had received, I selected them. When I say I had leaves, I mean I had LEAVES!!! He did a wonderfully thorough job of actually removing the leaves as well as other brush around the yard. I am so pleased with the way my yard looks, as well as the warm customer service provided that I have made arrangements to have JNT Landscaping do my regular lawn service when mowing season comes back around. I highly recommend JNT Landscaping!"

"I went through home advisor s to find someone for tree services. 2 minutes after entering my request Garcia Lawn Care called which was at 8pm and said he could come now and give a quote. He was here by 8:30pm. Came back the next morning to do the job. Very professional and did a great job. May use them again and would definitely recommend."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

You do not have to remove lead paint if the surface is not chipping or peeling or if there are no pregnant people or children under the age of six who live in or regularly visit your home. Lead paint is a particular risk for young children whose brains and bodies are not fully developed. Experts strongly recommend that you call a pro to remove lead paint if it’s peeling or flaking, no matter who lives in the home. You can experience lead poisoning by breathing in or ingesting just a small amount of it.

While not all homes built before 1978 contain lead paint, enough do, so you’ll still want to test to be on the safe side. The federal government banned lead-based paint for homes in 1978, but your state may have banned lead before that time. Around 24% of homes built between 1960 and 1977 contained lead-based paint, while 87% of homes built before 1940 contained lead-based paint.

Follow recommendations for removal or remediation to ensure a safe living environment.

The best way to remove lead paint is by wet hand sanding and removing all dust and residue with a HEPA vacuum. Professionals may also strip and scrape lead-based paint with a paint scraper. In some cases, you may choose to have a pro encapsulate or enclose your lead-based paint surface by covering it with a sealant or a new material. You may also choose to replace the material altogether.

You can paint over lead paint, or “encapsulate” it with a special paint that includes an ingredient called an encapsulant. The EPA approves encapsulation as a lead paint removal method as long as the paint remains undisturbed. Standard types of paint without an “encapsulant” from the big box stores or hardware stores do not meet EPA standards for remediation of lead-based paint.
