Generally, the chemicals in hornet venom deliver a more painful sting than wasp stings. But wasps can still pack a punch when they sting, especially if they sting multiple times. When a wasp stings, it pushes its stinger into the skin and releases venom. The sting site will typically become inflamed and swollen and likely hurt quite a bit. 

Some people are allergic to the venom and can have serious allergic reactions to a wasp sting. This sting could cause the throat to swell, difficulty breathing, hives, rapid heart rate, and vomiting. If you or someone has an allergic reaction to a wasp sting, it’s important to call 911 for emergency treatment, as reactions can be life-threatening.

Fortunately, many strong natural scents can help deter roaches, thanks to their keen sense of smell. Roaches tend to avoid potent aromas, such as crushed bay leaves, citrus peels, eucalyptus, and peppermint, as they associate these smells with danger. Sprinkling garlic powder, placing mint or lavender plants, or using essential oils like citronella, clove, or tea tree can create an unwelcoming environment for them. These scents don't kill roaches, but they can help keep them from settling in your home when used consistently in high-risk areas like kitchens, bathrooms, or entry points.
